Why Would Khloe Kardashian Go Red? Behind Her Hair Obsession

All eyes were on Khloe Kardashian, for a change, when she revealed her bright red locks last week, hitting the red carpet with her brunette sisters at the 2011 People's Choice Awards in Los Angeles, Calif.

"I wanted to go red, but I just didn't know where to go or how to even start," she told Life & Style magazine.

Clyde Haygood, the mastermind behind Khloe's crimson hue and stylist for the other Kardashians, revealed to Life & Style how the transformation came about.

"Khloe has been obsessed with this Esquire magazine with a redhead on the cover -- she'd wanted to do her hair like that for months. After getting the thumbs up from Lamar [Odom, her hubby], Khloe went into transformation mode."

Four-and-a-half hours later, she emerged from Goodform Salon in Los Angeles with a sexy new look.

"You know, Khloe is a natural blonde," said Haygood, who enlisted colorist Julie Canales to help.

Odom loved the look but wanted it brighter, so she went back the next day for a second round of highlights and lowlights.

Khloe's reaction to her fiery-red mane? "I love it!" And the rest of the Kardashian clan seemed to agree. "They were shocked when they saw her, but they loved it," added Haygood.

"The red hair is sexy, confident and gorgeous," said the reality TV star's mom, Kris Jenner. "I love it on her!" Read More on StyleList >>>

I loved her @ the awards show, she looked gorgeous but now that she has gone fire engine red it is hideous. She looked soft & her features were gorgeous. Why do people have to go overboard.
