What a look! Rooney Mara debuted a dramatic new look at the Palm Springs International Film Festival over the weekend, where she accepted the award for Best Ensemble Performance with her 'Social Network' cast mates.

According to E!Online, the actress's new look is a glimpse of what she'll look like as troubled computer hacker Lisbeth Salander in the upcoming American film version of Stieg Larsson's best-selling novel 'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.'

Mara joins James Bond himself, Daniel Craig, who plays journalist Mikael Blomkvist, in the film. The two team up to investigate a series of unsolved murders.

Sony Pictures' search for the right actress to play Salander had a number of Hollywood starlets vying for the intense role, including Ellen Page, Carey Mulligan, Mia Wasikowska and Emily Browning.
