Stephen Baldwin: 'I Did a Very Foolish Thing' by Attacking Sean Hannity
EXCLUSIVE: Stephen Baldwin knows he's been a bad, bad boy. The 'Usual Suspects' actor has chosen
PopEater to publicly apologize to Sean Hannity for saying he should "get off the radio" for exhibiting "petty stupidity" by bashing Stephen's older brother Alec on the air last week.
"I did a very foolish thing," Stephen admits when he reacted negatively (and publicly) after Sean played Alec's pig-headed voice mails to his then 11-year-old daughter during a Jan. 4 broadcast. "When Sean played that again, it really caused a knee-jerk reaction in me 'cause it's my brother," he tells PopEater.
Watch after the jump.
That "knee-jerk reaction" came in the form of a text message and comments to Page Six, where Stephen bellowed, "This behavior by Hannity is the stupidity that people often refer to when they think of George W. Bush and Sarah Palin. If he needs to lower himself to petty stupidity, then he needs to get off the radio."
Them's fightin' words and the FOX News star quickly shot back by slamming the '30 Rock'-er for not fighting his own battles.
"Alec trash-mouths all the time, including me, and it's too bad he needs his little brother to defend him," he said. "I don't need lectures from any Baldwin on conservatism, religion, politics or anything else. That's one screwed-up bunch."
Stephen now says that what Sean isn't taking into consideration is that making fun of someone can be "hurtful to others. Other members of my family."
Chalk it all up to brotherly love, but Stephen now thinks he was in the wrong and is ready to attone to his fellow Christian conservative.
"I'm here ... to publicly apologize to Sean Hannity and say that I'm very sorry. That was not the correct thing to do, and I feel terrible about it. In turn, it became a much more exacerbated situation because he got upset, and he got angry and kind of used his platform in a greater way to make the matters worse. So I just wanna call it even, and wanna say Sean, from the bottom of my heart, God bless ya. I apologize and wanna take the higher road here, bury the hatchet and just hopefully start over."
Stephen's brother, Billy, also stood up for Alec last week, telling me on my
HDNet show 'Naughty But Nice Rob' that those infamous voice mails are "totally misunderstood."

Good for Stephen! It is nice to know there is still humility in Hollywood!

I dont watch baldwin movies...Only me..I think they're sleazy bums with no talent...they run their mouths but no rear end back up...
I'm a fan of Hannity, but Alec is Billy's brother and it's natural for him to defend him to a point. Billy is being a man about it and extending the hand of friendship. I hope Sean does the same.I love this , So does My boyfriend .he is almost 11year older than me .i met him via agegapsin gles.c'om a nice place for seeking age le ss love.which gives you a chance to make your life better and open opportunities for you to meet the attractive young girls and treat you like a king. Maybe you wanna check it out or tell your friends.. Just love it
I don't think the apology goes far enough. I think they should lick each others boots in a display of singlemindedness.
Sean Hannity is a bum - an immature idiot just like he was told. Just like George W and Sarah Palin.
no need to apoloigize or anything else to that two time college dropout with a 4th grade mentality, Sean Hannity.
Humility? Not so much. He is just another example of ignorant so-called stars who use EVERY opportunity to get in yet ANOTHER dig at Sarah Palin, as if she is the cause of this country's problems. Which she is not.
What happened with Alex and the phone was years ago. For Hannity to bring it up now was stupid and he needs to shut up. He has way too much to say. I used to like to watch his show, now I have to skip over him because he is so picky and petty.
Good for you Stephen!!!!
Stephen is a loser. He's an addict. He knows his azzzzzz
is quickly fading into the west.If it wasn't for his name,
he would just be another homeless Ted Williams
......Sean had said that if they didn't stop tearing him down that he would put Alex's tape of his daughter on......well we all heard that and I guess the Baldwin's realized when you fight with someone make sure they don't have a mike; like they did with Palin. When they started to tear her down she fought back also. The rest of us can turn away from them all.
Now the question is, will hannity realize the error of HIS ways and apologize. Don't hold your breath.
Too bad the Baldwin brothers don't have an intervention with Alec rather than defend his stupid, childish, dangerous behavior. Everyone should boycot anything Alec Baldwin.
It's nice to see the Baldwins sticking up for somebody publically instead of publically beating the living tar out of women..such great guys!
I would do the same thing for my brother - blood is blood - and that is all you have in this world!
I just love how people says something and when found out, and somehow turn it around to blame the other person. As Baldwin did to Hannity. It's time for people to speak out and really say who is in the wrong here. Notice did not deny taped phone call, which i for one don't see how you could defend.
good for Stephen? Please! That guy needs to put a clamp on his pompous mouth! He needs a huge dose of humility!
Sean Hannity is a redneck and his followers are unintelligent.
HE WAS PROTECTING HIS BROTHER, THATS WHAT YOU SHOULD DO. BASED ON THE BUSINESS HE'S IN HE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT SILENCE IS GOLDEN BUT YOU HAVE TO GIVE HIM RESPECT FOR HIS REASON TO HIT BACK. "NEVER LEAVE YOUR WING MAN".

Right.....Even when your "wingman" is morally bankrupt and repugnant and can't handle himself around an 11 year old. Yeah right. You should defend that behavior all day long. Sounds like you two are peas in a pod.
Steve were you raised in a pig pen . You always have your brother's back
