Sting and Trudie Explain Their Lasting Romance

For a lot of people, love is hard work, if not impossible. But for Sting and his wife, it's their gift to each other. In the cover story for the February issue of Harper's Bazaar, Sting and Trudie Styler reflect on their 30-year marriage and discuss what the secret is to sustaining a healthy romance.

"When we see each other, it's romance. I don't think pedestrian sex is very interesting," Sting says. "There's a playfulness we have; I like the theater of sex. I like to look good. I like her to dress up. I like to dress her up."

To Sting and his wife, it's not even necessarily a secret as much as it is just a perfect match.

"Relationships aren't easy, and I don't think they're particularly natural, but we're lucky because we actually like each other," he says. "We love each other -- that's a given -- but Trudie lights my world up when she comes into a room. I don't take her for granted."

The pair also tell Harper's Bazaar about The Rainforest Fund, the forest conservation foundation they founded. The foundation raised more than $28 million, and they did it mostly by doing what they know best: entertainment.

"We don't want to get on a soapbox and preach about how everything's going to s**t," Sting says. "But we have a very established infrastructure, people in the ﬁeld, programs we finance. In order to raise those funds, we put on entertainment, which is what we do."

A concert in May with Lady Gaga and Elton John got a little wild for Sting, however, when he put on drag while singing with Shirley Bassey.

"That was my first time in drag," Sting says. "I have a new respect for women."

If these two look like your grand parents, you really should be in school rigt now. And remember how abnormal you think this is when you are over 40. Guess you won't be having any sex then, right? Sex doesn't stop after 40 for some of us, it actually gets much better. But I guess you will never know. Childish a@@.

Why is it so abnormal? People don't stop their desire for sex because of age. Everyone wants to be touched and held until the day they die. Once, you know the feeling it doesn't die. Wait until you get 70 and still want to get your groove on and see how you think about it then. I praise anyone who can continue to get their groove on. Sex is beautiful between two people who love and respect each other. Get over it!!

Yes, I do so WISH Sting would stop talking about his sex life - but then maybe we should tell the interviewers to stop asking about it. Even on TV in England they have gotten into tantric sex etc. HEAR THIS STING - we don't care about your sex life, we don't want to hear about it, we don't want to read about it, we don't want any photos. Get over yourself already, if you and your wife are so happy in the bedroom then kudos to you, but that should be between you and your wife ONLY!

Thank you! You would think that all of the failed marriages of the entertainment business would help people to appreciate people who are faithful to one another! My husband and I have beeb married fo 24 years and are best friends. And yes, we have an active sex life. So we're not as cute as we once were, I think it still is something praiseworthy. And, as they did pictures for charity, I think they definately derserve praise. Would I do it? No, but that's not me.I thought they both looked attractive and not sickening. And for the youngster who thought they looked like her(his?) granparents, we older ones know more so don't be jealous.
