A.J. McLean Checks Into Rehab: Will It Jeopardize Backstreet-New Kids Tour?

Although Backstreet Boy A.J. McLean has entered rehab, it will not ruin his band's upcoming tour with New Kids On The Block.

"He doesn't want to do anything to jeopardize the success of the highly anticipated tour this summer," a source close to McLean tells PopEater.

On Thursday, McLean checked into rehab. According to several online reports, his behavior in recent weeks had been interfering with the upcoming NKOTBSB tour, and he had been advised to straighten up. He had allegedly appeared under the influence last month during a Backstreet Boys cruise.

"For personal reasons, I've checked myself into a rehab clinic," the singer wrote in a statement released Thursday. "With 2011 being a busy year for Backstreet, I want to be healthy and perform for people at my very best and happiest. I look forward to seeing everyone really soon!"

McLean, who has toured around the world in some of the most exciting cities, has had issues with alcohol and drug addictions in the past few years and worked on getting clean before.

He has asked his fans for privacy during this time and is looking forward to the tour.

I am so proud of him and hope he knows his true fans wouldn't even care if this affected the tour. All anyone should want is for him to be happy and healthy....doesn't matter how long it takes or what may have to be rescheduled! He has all my support :)

McLean, who has toured around the world in some of the most exciting cities, has had issues with alcohol and drug addictions in the past few years and worked on getting clean before.I love reading this , So does My boyfriend .he is almost 11year older than me .i met him via age'lessmate.c'om a nice place for seeking age le ss love.which gives you a chance to make your life better and open opportunities for you to meet the attractive young girls and treat you like a king. I will be praying for AJ during this trying time. I have been a fan forever and will continue to be. I hope that he gets all the love and support and PRIVACY that he needs during this time. I know how fans think they are helping sometimes when they invade Backstreet's privacy and try to get close to them but I hope everyone respects AJ's privacy and let's him heal.
