'The City' star Erin Kaplan announced this week that she is leaving her PR job at Elle and heading over to Teen Vogue, according to Styleite.
"After five and a half incredible years, tomorrow will be my final day at Elle," she wrote in an e-mail this week. "On Tuesday, January 18th I will be starting at Teen Vogue."
She will take over the role of senior director of PR for the Conde Nast publication.
Kaplan was thrust into the public eye when she appeared on MTV's 'The City' for two seasons, opposite fashionista Whitney Port and socialite Olivia Palermo. The show, which prominently featured fashion magazine Elle, was canceled last year.
But have we seen the last of Kaplan on the small screen? Not necessarily.
According to sources, Teen Vogue is shopping around a new reality show about its publication. Getting Kaplan on board would not only help their PR department, but possible TV ratings as well.
Adding fuel to the fire, director R.J. Cutler, the man behind 2009's hit documentary 'The September Issue,' announced last week that he is producing yet another "fashion docu-drama."
Could Cutler and Teen Vogue be teaming up? It certainly seems possible, considering the application for Cutler's project specifically mentions the teen-centric magazine, according to Styleite. And with Kaplan's magazine jump, she could easily fill a starring role.
There is no official word, however, on whether Cutler's project is connected to Kaplan's move. We'll just have to wait and see.
In the meantime, check out the trailer for 'The September Issue' below and tell us in the comments if you think Kaplan can cut it in the cutthroat world of Conde Nast.
