Tony Parker Opens Up About Split With Eva Longoria

Tony Parker is seeking refuge on the basketball court as he copes with his recent divorce from actress
Eva Longoria. In his first interview since the split, Parker says he's trying to "make sense of things."
"The most important thing is to stay strong mentally, even if these are very difficult times," Parker told France's Le Parisien newspaper (via
PEOPLE). "I've take refuge in basketball because that's what I've done best since my youth."
With the support of his teammates and family, Parker is trying to move on. "My whole family has been around me through this," he said, adding he's trying to avoid reading anything written about his marriage.
Longoria
filed for divorce from Parker in November, citing irreconcilable differences as a reason for the split.
There has been speculation that Parker cheated on his wife. Longoria allegedly found hundreds of text messages on Parker's phone from Erin Barry, the wife of Parker's former San Antonio Spurs teammate Brent Barry. Parker has denied any physical relationship with Erin Barry and
filed his own divorce papers.
Longoria took to her
Twitter account to make an official announcement about the split. "It is with great sadness that after 7 years together, Tony and I have decided to divorce. We love each other deeply and pray for each other's happiness," she wrote.
The split seemed to surprise everyone -- even their close friends. 'Basketball Wives' star Tami Roman, a longtime friend of Longoria's, thought the couple were destined to be together forever. "Eva genuinely loved him and thought they'd be together forever. I'm sure she never imagined anything like this would happen," Roman
told PopEater in December.
But this isn't the first time an infidelity scandal has plagued the pair. In 2007, a number of tabloids reported that Parker had cheated on Longoria with model Alexandra Paressant. The couple denied the claims and were eventually issued an apology from X17Online, which claimed to have been misled by Paressant.

Longoria and Parker married three years ago. The actress announced her engagement to the San Antonio Spurs point guard in November 2006, and the couple wed in Parker's native France the following year.
Now, Parker is trying to stay focused on the basketball court and move on from the heartbreak. "You have to know how to keep things in perspective," he told Le Parisien. "I am, first of all, a basketball player. I've done this for so very long ... For me, it's been essential to be successful on the court."

@ Sherri, you're just mad because none of the colored boys want your stank a**
That's funny, and you are correct. I have two thoughts on this. One, don't people ever try working things out anymore? Seems like as soon as there is trouble, someone files for divorce. Maybe it's because they are rich, and can afford to just move on. It also has to make one wonder if they were ever really in love in the first place. Maybe these Hollywood/pro athlete types aren't really capable of true love. And two, why do they even bother getting married in the first place. Maybe they think it's just a big party, bt when they actually wake-up (figurtively speaking) they realize they actually have to work at maintaining a marriage. Who the hell really knows?
Only guys??/surely you gest!!!
Really, if that's what he's doing while he's married, I'm sure that's what he's doing now. And can you believe his shirt(survivor)? Oh poor thing, let's hope he can 'make sense of it all'. Da. So glad he has his family aroung him to get through this 'hard time' he has brought entirely on himself. I can't imagine how these celebrity athletes expect anyone to feel sorry for them when their spoiled selfishness wrecks their life.
The best way to get OVER one is to get UNDER another....

In the first place we dont know what happend behind closed doors. She could be beautiful on the outside and cold as ice inside. You have two people that have careers that take them away for extended periods of time. Im sure they both have their groupies that want to get next to them. you have to be a very strong person to be able to fight off the temptation especially if things are not quite right at home. Its not only Athletes either, its actors, singers, politicians and even some religious leaders.
These men who make a name in sports are deluded into thinking they are gods. They are nothing without an education. Education enhances everything about a person. Without a good mind, there's not much left after the excitement wears off.

Exactly Annamaria!!!
Education is certainly not the subject.Bill Clinton was a Rhodes Scholar .

And Eva is beautiful and NOT dependent on him financially-what's wrong with him?

not depending on finanical support huh? They why is it that she has already requested spousal support? She a one fugly woman without her makeup. Apparently greedy too
I still remember what a veteran NBA Player said years ago during the Kobe Bryant infidelity scandal when asked by a reporter about infidelity in professional sports. His reponse is something a lot of multi millionaire professional athletes should rememberand pay heed to:
"When I'm tempted to cheat, I look at those women and ask myself
'Is she worth half of everything I own? The answer is always "NO!!!'"
