Zsa Zsa Gabor's Leg Successfully Amputated

Zsa Zsa Gabor is successfully out of life-saving surgery to amputate her leg, TMZ reports. Three quarters of Gabor's leg was removed, starting from just above her knee. The Hungarian-American socialite and actress has been ailing since summer 2010. Gabor has had a colorful career that paved the way for the next generation of celebrities who were simply "famous for being famous." (And she managed to do that before reality TV!)

Gabor's publicist announced earlier today that the 93-year-old was scheduled to undergo surgery at 11AM PST at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.

TMZ reports that there were no unexpected difficulties incurred during the procedure, and Gabor is expect to heal. Doctor are keeping an extra eye on her just in case because of her age.

Gabor's husband Prince Frederic von Anhalt green-lit Gabor's the procedure. Married to Gabor for 24 years, the Prince is currently with by her side at the hospital. He is Gabor's ninth husband.

I hate to sound heartless-but this woman was a d-list starlet YEARS ago-people get amputations everyday- but it seems like every other day, there's someting posted about this woman.
Most people don't even know who she is.
Same goes for Marlo Thomas-her name keeps popping up on AOL.
Guess if they're not busy bashing Conservative women, they're breathlessly reporting on old ladies.
