'Housewives' Hubby Simon van Kempen Gets His Own Spinoff (Web) Show
EXCLUSIVE: Simon van Kempen, husband to Alex McCord, has spent the last several years as one of the most polarizing figures on Bravo's 'Real Housewives of New York City.' From quirky fashionista, to doting, Speedo-wearing husband to those nagging rumors about his sexuality, Simon has never been far from the drama.
Now fans who have missed Simon are in for a double dose this season, as not only will he be appearing much more in this fourth season of the show, but Bravo has signed him onto his own spinoff webcast focusing more on his everyday life away from the drama that is 'Housewives.'
"I'm delighted to get a mini spinoff from 'Housewives' and so glad I didn't have to get pregnant or married to do so!" Simon tells me, in a dig to Bethenny Frankel. "Seriously, Alex, the boys and I have a lot of fun living in Brooklyn, and these webisodes give viewers a chance to see all four of us away from the drama of 'Housewives.'"
The impeccably dressed hotel manager tells me that fans will get to see him "shopping, cooking, accidentally injuring myself and attempting to overcome one of life's toughest afflictions."
This, as-yet-untitled, spinoff show will stream on BravoTV.com tied to the airing of the new season of 'The Real Housewives of New York,' which debuts Feb. 15 on Bravo.

Sorry, Nick, you can't speak (or spell) French, either.
C'mon, it's a WEB series? Who cares???

AARGH! I wish you'd be more explicit when you write "Housewives" in your headings!! Some of us think you mean "Desperate Housewives". And we're actually interested! DH might be a fluff piece of nonsense, but it's far more interesting than the so-called "reality" trash you're writing about here!

I don't care for him or his wife. I would rather have a root canal than watch those two.

Love Alex and Simon is different--can't wait to see this little family on their own show minus the other New York housewives. Can't stand Jill or that weirdo Kelly so now I won't have to see those two. Yeah!

Good for them--can't wait to see!

It's about time.. He is the only husband in the series that has any personality and isn't afraid to be himself. Congrats Simon!

Congrats guys! You two need your own series next!! Spin off soon??

Simon is creepy and Alex looks like Frankenstein. Together they are intolerably boring "wannabees."

GO SIMON!!!!!!!!! More red pants??? When does the web series start??

Alex and Simon are very good people who I think are unfairly seen as social climbers. They are real and genuine, unlike fakes like Jill and insane nutjobs like Kelly.

CONGRATS! SIMON HAS THE MOST PERSONALITY OUT OF ALL THE HOUSEHUSBANDS!!!

Bravo must be really hard up for programs. This "housewife" series has gotten out of hand. Who would watch the "Atlanta" housewives besides people in Atlanta. (and if I lived there, I would be embarred that NeNe and Kim are representative of "society "there). and now the "House husband". To say he is obnoxious is being kind. Love "Top Chef", but Bravo is hurting

I am truly happy for them. I have met them a few times and they are genuinely nice people unlike some of the others in the cast who, when I met them at the same time, didn't give me the time of day..Jill actually pushed past me at a fashion show..trash...

Oh yeah the new show will be called-The Ugly Old Guy Show-featuring a 50 something Dutch looking guy with a red/grey goatee and died brown hair-should be a real hit with the Nursing home set-

I think it is sad for television when signing regular people who can create as many train wrecks as possible, land on TV. And equally sad is that women seem to be the ones keeping this crap on the air. Women are supposed to be the nurturing ones and yet you seem to flourish on bad behavior. I disagree about Bethenny Frankel and the way she is being crammed down our throats, without being invited. Is this really all it takes to draw your interest? Thank God for a remote...the programming on Bravo, MTV and VH1 leaves alot to be desired.
