Brokenhearted Taylor Swift Isn't Ready to Date Again

Delving into her work since the recent split with Jake Gyllenhaal, Taylor Swift isn't in a rush to find another guy.

"Taylor is not exactly a loner, but she fares well on her own and will be fine if she doesn't hook up with a guy immediately, " a source close to Swift tells PopEater.

According to several reports, Swift hasn't recovered from the breakup and isn't her usual bubbly self. If anything, she's busy in the studio working on her breakup song. In the past, Swift, 21, has written plenty of songs about ex-boyfriends including Taylor Lautner and John Mayer.

Her relationship with Gyllenhaal, 30, was short but looked promising. After hanging together after a segment of 'Saturday Night Live' in October, the couple began seeing each other in New York, Nashville and London. Although they tried to keep things secret, they were spotted through the end of November in those cities, including a stint in Big Sur, Calif., walking on the beach and nibbling on ice cream cones.

During the Thanksgiving holiday, the couple spent time together in Brooklyn with Jake's sister, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and her husband, Peter Sarsgaard. After that, Swift and Gyllenhaal flew back to Nashville for a few days where they were seen holding hands, embracing and sipping coffee.

"While people expected them to spend the Christmas holidays together, they were each photographed separately in different cities," says the source. "It looked like things didn't work out."

While Us Magazine reported that the actor dumped the songbird, Swift remains a prolific songwriter more confident about her musical talent than her personal life.

"I was sort of geeky when I was young and didn't really fit in," she told Barbara Walters during a TV interview last year. "I loved poetry and songwriting, and spent hours with my music. It helped fill the void."

Swift, who recently released her album 'Speak Now' could be doing just that about her split with Gyllenhaal. Stay tuned, Jake!

As the 19th highest earning person in America, Taylor has a lot of cushion, plenty of youth and scads of songwriting talent so it's not like she's twenty-one, poor and pregnant. It's all fodder for her creativity right now and she'll do just fine.

True, but you can be smart in someways, and stupid as heck in others. She better learn to deal with it, or she will not be happy. Peace in a famous relationship will never happen.

I'm weary of reading about and hearing about Taylor Swift's personal life stories. She is young, she dates which is normal. Then she writes/sings about it on her very public forum. Wished the media would move on and write about something else for awhile.

So many (valid) cliche's but what I want to know is:
Is Taylor going to "fall in love" with someone just because
that someone sticks with her? I want to see her pick a good man and go for it-make the first move. Or maybe she should go on the "The Bachlorette" Show and meet someone under totally false pretenses (and of course, "fall in love"...they all do, right?) And if she's the lucky pick, she can get married (and divorced within 3 years) and join the rest of Hollywood. What a great sad song that would be!

Taylor Swift seems to be a drama queen. Falls in love at the drop of a hat, then practically has an emotional breakdown after each break up. Maybe it's the media, but judging from her music, she really dives in too fast. She's never going to get a date if she doesn't stop airing out in public.

According to the local CW station in Orlando, this morning they claimed Taylor WAS NOT going to write a breakup song because Jake made HER PROMISE she would not in the event of a split. Silly girl. Taylor will be just fine, I just wish she would be a little more selective and maybe 'that someone' actually might be from her past, like an old (young)school friend. One never knows..........do they?

First off Swift is 21 people, she isn't going to be married anyday soon. Second, she has to stop the career first to really get into a serious relationship, third, I'm getting tired of hearing of all the relationships going bad. She is 21, she is going to go through a lot of pits before she hits the cherry. It was two months, you have an older actor who we know has been around and a younger lady who is still shall we say blossoming into her own. She needs to get away from people in the industry and try a guy who works at Ralphs! This won't be the first and it isn't the last. He went with Reese Witherspoon and she has two kids, he needs a older type woman so to speak. Move on and let the song go.

Swift needs to wake up! She wasn't sophisticated enough to hang with Gyllenhaal; heck, he's boffed dozens of babes, and Swift just hasn't reached that point in her life yet. She should have seen this for what it was, she dated a highly desirable man who knows what he is; hopefully, she learned a few things in the short time they had together (about herself, and about MEN, because Lautner and Mayer don't qualify in that regard either). And enough with the songs about her personal heartbreak. If she's smart, she'll see men who aren't in the entertainment business if she wants a long-term relationship. When both parties are famous, it's usually doomed to failure.
