Elton John: 'F**k You' If You're Against Gay Marriage
Elton John and partner David Furnish may have fame, fortune and a loving family, but the 'Rocket Man' singer won't be satisfied until gay couples are granted the same rights as their heterosexual counterparts.
Last night at billionaire Ron Burkle's Los Angeles fundraiser to overturn Proposition 8, the new father had some choice words for those who oppose gay marriage,
RadarOnline.com reports.
"I think I have it all," said the singer, who
welcomed son Zachary via surrogate last month. "I have a wonderful career, a wonderful life. I have my health, I have a partner of 17 years, and now I have a son. I don't have everything because I don't have the respect of people like the church or like politicians who tell me that I'm not worthy, that I'm lesser because I'm gay, well f**k you!"
John performed a 90-minute set of both new material and his classic hits for the 750-person crowd, which included 'Glee' star
Jane Lynch and
her partner, Dr. Lara Embry.
During the event, which raised more than $3 million for the restoration of marriage equality, John continued to voice his frustration over the disparity between his rights and those of other parents.
"Here I am sitting with a wedding ring and I'm with my partner and we have a son, but we couldn't get married," he said.
Despite his joy over the birth of Zachary, John's road to fatherhood hasn't been without obstacles. Just last year, John and Furnish were
turned down after trying to adopt an HIV-positive boy from the Ukraine, where civil marriages are not legally recognized.
John does, however, have hope for the future. "We have a right to be recognized as a human being. We have to fight the good fight," he said. "And we will win."

Now you straight people know how it feels when gays are told, "F*ck You, we don't care about your rights!"

Two people of the same sex cannot be "married" in the true sense, because identifying one as wife and one as husband is ridiculous! Calling each other "life partners", with the same legal rights and responsibilities seems the best possible choice, and I would urge everyone to accept those terms.

START LOOKING IN YOUR CLOSET, I BEG YOU FIND THINGS THAT PEOPLE WOULDNT LIKE ABOUT YOU. SO STOP RAGGING ON PEOPLE. AND LEAVE GAY PEOPLE ALONE. THEY ARE WONDERFUL, AND THEY TREAT PEOPLE GREAT. ESPECIALLY ELTON JOHN, WHO I LOVE, AND WHO CARES WHO HE MARRIES. AS LONG AS HES HAPPY, AND THEY DO LOOK HAPPY. SOME OF THE STRAIGHT PEOPLE, THEIR MARRIAGES DONT LAST A YEAR. I never thought he was "lesser because he was gay". I thought he was lesser because he's career has been over before Princess Di died.

I find it interesting that many liberals lecture conservatives about the uncivil discourse in this country. What about Elton? These remarks seem a little uncival to me. I wonder if any of the liberals will be lecturing him. I'm guessing they will not.

You're probably right that the liberals will not lecture him for being uncivil in this instance and I don't blame them. Gay people should have the right to do as straight people do. It's biggotry plain and simple. Can't straight people see that? Or are they just being bully's? Someday people will look back on this debate and remark how stupid people were in 2011. Everyone should be equal no matter what their orientation is. It's only fair.
Reactionary words from the fudge packin rocket man. I'm sick of gay rights activists trying to legitimize the most unnatural act that two people can engage in. What EJ needs is someone's foot up his azz instead of you know what. The problem is, I think he would enjoy it!

not ur foot john...heard it smells like ur mommys....
Elton John could have been more politically correct in his thoughts. people have the right to pursue happiness protected by the constitution of the US. The person who says vote is an idiot. You don't vote on equal rights. Everyone should have them and the protections they provide.
Marriage between two consenting adults harms no one. God has created gay people since the beginning of time. Just because they are different does not mean they should give up any rights. Especially in the U.S. where we have a constitution and the rights they offer to EVERYONE.

Sure, Elton, you hypocritical curmudgeon.
"F-k you, if you're against gay marriage, or unless you're Rush Limbaugh and you can pay me a million dollars to play at your wedding."
This is what happens when once viable rock stars marginalize themselves for thirty or forty years and listen to nothing but disco and Lady GaGa records.
Old dude is ALWAYS telling somebody off over something.
"F-k you if you boycott Arizona, f-k you if you boycott Israel, f-k you if you lip synch (I got yer back, there, Reg), f-k you if this, f-k you if that."
How about f-k you if you don't shut up about "f-king you" all the time?
Elton John has earned a lot of tolerance from me, because of his excellent early seventies rock (he was DONE after 1976) and for his stand-up work on behalf of AIDS patients. I remember, back in the 80s, when Americans were ganging up mob-style against hemophiliac sufferers with the disease, Elton John put his celebrity on the line on behalf of Ryan White and Ryan's victimized family. Also, he happens to be correct on the marriage issue. Fundies CAN just go f-k themselves when they want to stand in the way of others' pursuit of happiness.
Still, Elton, you've been pushing it for years.
It's getting kinda tiresome.

If I recall correctly, our president and vice-president are both against same sex marriage. It looks as though Sir Elton John is not exactly operating within that "civil" discourse suggested by President Obama. Of course, I support the right to express one's opinion, no matter how repugnant it is stated. But really...

How pathetic he is.....Elton John needs to realize that his son was birthed from a WOMAN and that is the right way! If men were given child bearing abilities from the time of CREATION (by God) and no not a lightning strike that created us all (Liberals, Gays, atheist, etc.) then I would support people loving or mating with whomever....but that is not how it came to be. If he does not like the rights our country was founded on then he and his partner need to leave!!!!

Good for both Elton and David.I only hope he said the same thing when he sang at Rush Limbugh's 100th wedding last year.I guess it's ok to remarry numerous times as long as they're heterosexual marriages. These two gentlemen have been together a very long time, most likely longer than all of Rush's marriages put together.I honestly don't care what or who Rush and his ilk do to whoever or whatever they want.It just makes me sick that they are the ones standing in the way of gay marriage. And Elton basically gave Mr.L his seal of approval. At least that's how the right wing looked at it.That EJ could be bought.

I have little time for bigots, cruel people, the self-rightness. Good luck and God bless to one and all. God made us all and loves us all. That's the bottom line.

no he doesnt ellen...he hates all workers on inquity....psalms 5:5...read up.....this is iniquity...
Yes, God loves everyone. But if you believe in God, don't you know what He says in the Bible?
I wonder if EJ is happy that his mom and dad didn't decide they were gay. If they had, he wouldn't be here right now.

Who needs the approval of the church or the gov't? Marriage (yup, hets I'm talking to you) is a scam that should require no government sanction. Stay out of it!
