Source: Will Smith Eyeing 'Annie' Reboot Starring Willow

It's no "hard knock life" for the Smith family these days. Variety reports that Will Smith is exploring a remake of the classic musical 'Annie,' starring none other than daughter Willow Smith.

The Sony project is still in development, and details surrounding it remain scarce. Sources say hip-hip mogul Jay-Z, who worked with Willow on her 'Whip My Hair' hit, is in talks to work on the music for the film. Whether or not it will feature new or orginial songs has yet to be decided.

The 10-year-old singer may have the singing down, but does she have the acting chops to go with it? The thespian bug does seem to run in the family.

Big brother Jaden starred in the Sony redo of 'The Karate Kid' last summer, bringing in more than $350 million worldwide. With a pull like that, and dad Will connected the to project, Sony will likely push ahead for the 'Annie' remake.

So first of all no one cares about "The Smiths" any more. And secondly...they belong to Crazywood...they will do whatever the hell they want to do. You people are wasting your time worrying about this. WHO CARES!!!!

Why do they keep trying to shove this kid in our face??? Annie is and will always be known for her adorable red curly hair and freckles. Oh and her singing!
Willow Smith has none of these traits! Please keep this spoiled little brat out of our childhood favorite movie!!!

Annie is based on a character that has been established as a white girl with red hair. I don't think Asian characters should be turned white either, or Native Americans or characters of African descent. I can't approve of it either way.

I THINK HE AND HIS WIFE ARE DOING A GREAT JOB AS "PARENTS". USUALLY A CHILD FOLLOWS THE FOOTSTEPS OF THE PARENTS, WHO ARE THE FIRST TEACHERS. WHETHER IT'S A REMAKE OR NOT, THE KIDS ARE IN SHOW BUSINESS, SO AS LONG AS THEY DON'T END UP LIKE SOME OTHER CHILD ACTORS & ACTRESSES WHO ARE ON "BURN-OUT" STATUS THEN I SAY A JOB WELL DONE...AS PARENTS

How are they doing a great job? The kid has no talent and would be gonged off the gong show but being they have money she can get things created for her and the young talented kids don't get a chance.
That's not a wonderful job, it teaches the kid that daddy and mommy can buy anything they want.

I had the pleasure of being on the Ozzfest 2005 tour working for Black Sabbath. Jada Pinkett Smith was the singer of a band named Wicked Wisdom on the "B" stage. As a result, I met Will Smith and had the opportunity to talk with him and his family. They were all nice people. I dont know what an "African American" is but they were real nice black people from America... If he makes a movie and his kids are in it I guess you should be jealous cause you obviously never achieved what he and his family did... By the way, Im white... Or should I say Non African... You people kill me with your "Politically Correct" stuff.. what a joke... speak your mind honestly, never speak to injure, and look at yourself with the same critical eye.
