Halle Berry's Ex-Husband to Wed Prince's Ex-Wife

Singer Eric Benet, whose divorce from Halle Berry was finalized in 2005, has just announced that he plans to tie the knot with girlfriend Manuela Testolini.

Currently on vacation in Egypt celebrating their engagement, the two are planning a summer wedding, according to USA Today.

The bride-to-be, formerly known as Manuela Testolini Nelson, was married to Prince from 2001 to 2006. She is the founder of the children's charity A Perfect World (Benet's daughter India, whose mother passed away in 1993, is featured as a Youth Ambassador on the organization's official website).

Benet, 44, popped the question in November with an antique diamond ring, and says the engagement was an intimate -- and musical -- moment: "During a romantic dinner, I decided to finally let Manuela hear 'Never Want to Live Without You,' a song off my new album that I had written for her. I sang it to her, then got down on one knee and proposed."

The couple met approximately four years ago at a Los Angeles charity event. "We sparked up a conversation and became really good friends," Benet told People.com in 2008. "It naturally progressed into something else."

While Testolini's relationship with the notoriously private Prince made very few headlines, Benet was dogged by infideltiy reports during his marriage to Berry (which he ultimately confirmed). And despite his famous stint in rehab for sex therapy, a reconciliation did not succeed. "I was very much in love with my wife [Halle Berry]," Benet said after parting ways with the Oscar winner. "But I personally could only contribute 50 percent. Ultimately what was the end of us was she just couldn't trust me anymore. You can't blame her for that....Marriage is a challenge in itself, but when you have a marriage that is dealing with this fishbowl onstage for the whole world to see -- it's really hard to adjust to that."
