Joan Rivers Ditches Michelle Obama 'Blackie O' Joke

Joan Rivers isn't known for her tactfulness or sensitivity. But one joke about First Lady Michelle Obama was too racy even for Joan, and the outspoken comedienne pulled it from her stand-up routine.

Joan told scandal-loving Howard Stern that she pulled a joke about the First Lady for fear of being accused of racism. "We used to have Jackie O," she said. "Now we have Blackie O!"

Joan said she meant the nickname as a term of endearment for Michelle, alluding to her noteworthy fashion sense and stylistic resemblance to another iconic First Lady, Jackie Kennedy Onassis.

"I thought it was a funny complimentary joke when she first came [to the White House]," she told Howard.

The shock jock's sidekick, Robyn Quivers, laughed but asked Joan, "Where's the compliment in that? I'm looking and I'm looking, I'm trying to find it."

77-year old Joan very rarely bites her tongue. Earlier this week she said FOX News could "go f**k themselves" after canceling her appearance on the network's morning show for what she claimed was retaliation for some harsh comments about FOX contributor Sarah Palin.

She also told PopEater's Rob Shuter that Tommy Lee Jones 'makes Hitler look warm and fuzzy.' That woman has really got to learn to form an opinion, huh?

How about if we called Joan "Jewy Joan". Would that be offensive?

A joke like that might have worked for her back in the 1800's when she was just getting started, doing stand-up at the O.K. Corral. Now that she's out of her mind and out of ideas, she should stick to what she knows best...tacky jewelry and Bondo.

Good for you Joan, because I have a lot of respect for you as a woman capable of standing her ground, and taking care of yourself as a woman. I think I would have lost a lot of respect for you had you used that joke.

Scooter, getting more despicable with time is Joan's desperate attempt to try to stay relevant. She used to be kinda funny sometimes; now she's just kinda pathetic most of the time.

Nice thing about Joan and her surgeries is when she dies you can just throw her in the plastic recycling bin. Her appearance contract must read "Keep away from all heat sources."

When are the good Jewish people going to condemn some of their own like Rivers and Stern for their morals and actions. The actions of a few put a bad face on the rest of the religion. Some people will think all Jewish people are like that, that they approve of fowl language and immoral-acts. Is that the only way they can make a living?
