Kyle Richards Apologizes for 'Housewives' Brawl with Sister Kim

Bravo's recent season finale episode of 'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' wrapped up with a shocking scene: Kyle Richards and her intoxicated sister Kim (both former child actors, and aunts to
Paris Hilton) tore into each other verbally, and just about came to blows inside their limo.
For days, fans of the typically frothy show have been buzzing about the dark episode. Did Kyle (pictured here, wearing pink) really call her sis "insane," "sick," a "liar" and "demented"? Did co-star Adrienne Maloof barely prevent a physical assault?
Now, Kyle is sorry for the blowup with Kim, who has since entered rehab. On her Bravo
blog, Kyle writes candidly about that night, and her bond with her sister.
"The events that transpired that evening were quite unfortunate and should never have occurred on, or off, camera," Kyle says in a statement released to Bravo. "We both said and did things that we regret. My sister and I love each other very much."
On her blog, Kyle says, "You may be thinking, 'You have a funny way of showing it.' And you're not wrong. However, our arguments were never about what was happening at
that moment. My mom used to say, 'They're crying about the apples, but it's really the oranges,' and that's exactly what was happening here."
"After this horrible argument between Kim and I, we didn't speak for a long time. My heart was broken and I suffered an incredible amount of anxiety and panic attacks. Next to losing my mother, this was the most difficult time of my life."
In her blog post, Kyle never indicates whether she's reconciled yet with Kim in person -- although she seems to speak for both when she says, "We want to move forward and put this behind us."
She continues, "It feels so strange to even refer to it as an 'episode.' This is my life. This is Kim's life. I wish we were just characters on television, but this is all too real. That night never should have happened. It was incredibly difficult to go through in the first place and it's even more difficult to watch and relive it."
The Richards sisters will likely relive, or at least address, the controversy on the series' reunion special, hosted by Andy Cohen, airing on Bravo this Thursday, Jan. 27 (9PM EST).

Kim appears to be the only down-to-earth and relateable one of the bunch. Does she have issues? Clearly, but don't we all? It appears, from her own words, she became a child actor due to her mom's own desire to be an actress. She was successful and became the breadwinner for an entire family at a very young age. That, coupled with what seems like some very tragic events in her adult life, have shaped who she is today...
Kyle seemed, for all intents and purposes, well balanced and rather stable, at first. However, the way she is portrayed dealing with her sister shows a very nasty, ugly side. I wish I didn't see her attacking her sister, it made me like her just a little bit less. Thank god for Adrienne!
In the end, its a TV show that is manipulated for entertainment value, and hey, I watch it and am sucked right in. I hope for those two sisters and their real life relationship they can get work through their issues and strengthen that sisterly bond. No one knows what they've struggled with, certainly not us as TV viewers.

The decline of our society, when we hold these people up as something that is to be emulated. This is Jerry Springer on estrogen.

You are so right!
I feel very sorry for Kim who seems so vulnerable to Kyle's strong personality. I am surprised that while Kathy Hilton is the oldest sister, it is the youngest one, Kyle who is the one looking after Kim. Wonder why?

So far Kyle has shown her true bully colors on screen. Let's see how the Reunion captures her apology to Kim for acting like a swine. The Reunion will cap it for me- I can't wait to see Kyle's redeeming character........(not holding my breath)

So Kyle obviously didn't read the book Camille gave her....(How to behave and why)

I've only seen one episode of this show (this is the ONLY episode I've ever seen of ANY reality, or dancing, Idol, whatever you want to call those shows) and Kyle was UGLY!!! I know that these things are totally set up and "scripted". I also know that they edit the footage to make the most drama, so who knows what really happens or how these people really live?? I would say that there's not enough editing magic to make Kyle look that b!tchY without her actually behaving that way and saying the things she said. She can cry about being unfairly portrayed as a meanie, but it was her that gave the editors/producers so much to work with! I'm sure it's a nice paying gig, but anyone that would put themselves out there like that and "pimping out" their poor families.....all for attention......is basically a selfish, superficial wench.

Taylor clearly attacked Kim, yet Klye never waited to find out what happened before belittling her sister. how sad

Kyle, you bully your sister and that's why no one else respects her and bullies her as well...you set the stage. Lisa, you threw your best friend out like the cat. Sedric has abandonment issues and instead of helping him find a job/apartment you didn't have time to help him adjust...horrible friend..he's better off. Taylor, you're dispicable. Kim, you're wonderful...get help babe. Camille, you're better off...good luck. Adriene....You are perfection.

I totally agree with you!
Hard to imagine people watch this garbage. Small brains I guess. No brains sounds better.

I love how all the women on here knock someone for getting there breast done or botox etc. please!! Kyle looks great who cares a little botox here and there. I dont think she looks fake at all she looks like she just maintains what she has, not too overdone and so what if kyle and her sister had there breast done they had 4 children. Who wouldnt want to perk themselves up! I know some people can go to the extremes I wouldnt put them in that category.

There lives are so boring and empty, if they didn't start drama and fights among themselves they would have nothing to talk about.

I watched this on Bravo (and was saddened by it)hit close to home. What I didn't understand is why no one thought of editing the 5 seconds of "your an alcoholic". If Kyle apologizes it should be to her sister Kim. Kyle should have contacted head honchos and edit scene. Bravo should have respected this as a personal matter.
