Elisabetta Canalis Learns on CNN She'll Never Be Mrs. Clooney

When George Clooney sat down for an interview with CNN's Piers Morgan, he made it clear to the world that he doesn't want to get married again. Too bad he forgot to mention this to longtime girlfriend, Elisabetta Canalis.

"I hate to blow your whole news story, but I was married," George told 'Piers Morgan Tonight' on Friday. "Yeah, so I've proven how good I was at it, and I just ... I'm allowed one," the 48-year-old actor-philanthropist said referring to his marriage to actress Talia Balsam from 1989 to 1993.

"Elisabetta had no idea he was going to say that," a friend of the Italian beauty tells me. "She thought she was going to be the girl who would finally get George to settle down and put a ring on it. She was totally surprised."

Even the star's dad, Nick, who was in the same interview, seemed surprised by his son's answer on plans to walk down the aisle again, telling George, "I want you to think about that. I want you to think about ... we've been married ... Nina [George's mom] and I've been married 51 years."

However, friends tell me despite what George might say in public, Elisabetta won't take no for an answer. "If he doesn't ask her to marry him soon she will ask him," an insider tells me. "And if he says no, well there are plenty more fish in the ocean."

Sounds like Mr. Clooney is a smart man! And he will make sure all his money stays with him. Too bad Miss Canalis...you won't be taking Mr. Clooney to the cleaners. Men should not get married to these women today!

We also know there are women out there who see him as a challenge and think they will be the one to FINALLY get him to propose. Unless he's trying to throw the media off, he's always said that he will never marry again. He has said this numerous times, so unless she lives in a cave, she should have known this already. If he feels that he had his one chance and it didn't work, then he's not willing to put himself or someone else through it again. Perhaps Mr. Clooney just knows himself better then other people that keep on trying it over and over again. He has a wonderful role model in his parents, but let's face it, we're not all that lucky.

Thank you! The man has never made it a secret that he is not interested in getting married again. In fact he has been quite vocal about it. Frankly I think she should cut her losses and move on if marriage is what she is looking for, because obviously she's not going to get it with him.

Now Sean Hayes IS gay but refuses to acknowledge it. Why do you think he is embreced by GLADD and does so well at portraying a gay?

One never says "never" to love, especially after his father's second marriage has lasted 51-years and he's totally happy.

Not getting remarried is a cop-out answer. It's a smokescreen to cover up the fact he is gay.

I adore George, his great personality shines through even more than his looks. I don't blame him for not getting married again. He doesn't need a piece of paper to tell the person he lives with that he loves her! If he has no plans for kids in his future...he doesn't need marriage! If his girl needs more then his warm body next to her, then go find it, he stated in public how he feels, she is a fool to think she can change his mind. Stay as you are George, cute, humble, funny and single!
