Elisabetta Canalis Learns on CNN She'll Never Be Mrs. Clooney

When George Clooney sat down for an interview with CNN's Piers Morgan, he made it clear to the world that he doesn't want to get married again. Too bad he forgot to mention this to longtime girlfriend, Elisabetta Canalis.

"I hate to blow your whole news story, but I was married," George told 'Piers Morgan Tonight' on Friday. "Yeah, so I've proven how good I was at it, and I just ... I'm allowed one," the 48-year-old actor-philanthropist said referring to his marriage to actress Talia Balsam from 1989 to 1993.

"Elisabetta had no idea he was going to say that," a friend of the Italian beauty tells me. "She thought she was going to be the girl who would finally get George to settle down and put a ring on it. She was totally surprised."

Even the star's dad, Nick, who was in the same interview, seemed surprised by his son's answer on plans to walk down the aisle again, telling George, "I want you to think about that. I want you to think about ... we've been married ... Nina [George's mom] and I've been married 51 years."

However, friends tell me despite what George might say in public, Elisabetta won't take no for an answer. "If he doesn't ask her to marry him soon she will ask him," an insider tells me. "And if he says no, well there are plenty more fish in the ocean."

Perhaps because she's from Italy she didn't know about his past and how he abhors the idea of marriage. But now that she's knows for sure, these are her choices: Stay with him and forever be called his girlfriend or leave him and get a man who wants to be a husband and father.

Wake up everyone. Haven't you noticed how many films Clooney makes with men only? How he loves to hang with the "boys?" I met people at a delightful resort that said they are friends with others who know that Clooney is gay. Man love.

George is one of oh, say 25% of men who would be doing themselves and everyone else a favor by staying single and not procreating. There is a good segment of the world's male population that should NEVER attempt monogamy. It's against their nature. All that ends up happening is that a lot of people get hurt, women get left to raise children alone, often with little of no support, and these natural batchelor males end up miserable. We have 7 billion people on this earth, so what if 20% of them never have children. It would benefit the world to reduce the population. Encourage this as much as possible when you know a man who has no business in a monogamous phony relationship.

frankly i think he's a closet gay. his career would not be so hoopla if he came out. she's arm candy, just like the past string of women he's paraded around getting his picture taken with.

Any man single and forty is not looking to marry anyone. Why would he, he's getting the advantages of marriage without the responsiblity of marriage. I get a kick out of these eye candy girls thinking they will get him to the altar. Beauty, no smarts!

When did she realize that "George Porgie" IN NOT and NEVER WAS marriage material. He cares not to have any responsibility other than to himself. Just another 'self-centered' spoiled hollywood brat, that can't handle real issues of life. Think the only one he was dedicated to was his pet "Piggly Wiggly". That's OK though, Pigs are cute little critters. George never has grown up.....what's wrong with George? Um..... By the way, I do not suggest that Mr. Clooney ever things of the Presidency. Lets face it George, we need a real man in the White House, not a 'boy toy' for President. Our Country is enough of a mockery, lets keep the 'clowns' of Hollywood out of it. We are enough of a 'laughing stock'. George get another Pet Pig, and hopefully your present gal takes a good look at you and gets a real man with a serious side! You simply are not.
