Bristol Palin Loves Being 3,600 Miles From Her Mom

It's not always easy leaving home and starting a new life for yourself, but now that Bristol Palin has traded freezing Alaska for the dry heat of Arizona, friends tell me she has zero intention of ever returning to her mom way, way up north in Wasilla.

"Bristol loves her mom and family, but it was time for her to start her own life with her son," a friend of Bristol's tells me. "'Dancing With the Stars' changed her life. She had never left home before, and it gave her the confidence to know she can survive and finally step out of her mom's shadow."

Being a whopping 3,600 miles away from home has let Bristol make her own decisions, rather than letting her mom influence her every move.

She bought a property in Maricopa, Ariz., last year with the money she earned from 'Dancing,' and she has even met with the management at Mix 96.9 FM in Phoenix to discuss a job in radio.

"Bristol was always a shy girl," her friend tells me. "She thought she would be working in an office for the rest of her life. She thought she would always be the governor's daughter who was never as pretty or as talented as her mom. But now that has all changed."

It may not come as a surprise to hear from insiders that Sarah can be a touch overbearing at times with her kids, and I'm told she didn't exactly encourage Bristol to flee the nest at the ripe age of 20.

"All this was Bristol's doing," her friend tells me. "She wants to make it on her own and hasn't taken a penny from her now-multimillionaire mother."

Bristol has yet to comment on whether she will accept the radio job or not, but even if she doesn't, something tells me everything is going to work out fine for this ambitious young lady.

She may not have taken a penny from her mom but she owes where she to the attention she received because of her mom. If her mom had not been put in the spotlight by McCain, DWTS would not have known who she was and she wouldn't have the money to buy a home on her own.

I for one do not hate Bristol. But, I do dislike what she and her family stands for. In watching Bristol since she came out, I find her to be just as sneaky as her mom. She is capable of saying one thing, and doing anoher. She pretended to be sooo shy, but she went on DWTS and made money at someone else's expense. A young lady was disqualified who had waay more talent to make room for her. She became an unwed mother, then tried to glorify it by going on speaking engagements, to preach something that she herself did not do. She has made being an unwed mother starlike, just because her name is Palin. That tells me that she thinks that she is above the rest. She must really confuse other young unwed mothers. They don't know whether to shine or hide.

Let me get this straight, so she took a chance to make easy money just luck anyone else would at her age or any other. She has superpowers which warped the minds of judges and the governing authorites of the show to keep her around expell the other contestant, and she went on speaking engagements to make more easy money because they invited her to, and she did exactly like those freaks on that MTV show Teen moms did minus the cops and the Department of Child Services taking away her kid stuff. Oh yea shes a criminal for doing what every other person on here would have done!

Leave Bristol alone. What has she EVER done to you? I'm so sick of anyone bashing this girl. She should probably stay out of the public eye, though. It is not very kind to the Palin family.
I was a single mom at age 20 and it's not easy. Give the girl a break. She didn't run and kill her baby like so many pro-choice teens would have. I respect her for that.

You have the mentality of a hyenna. Calling the child a "b" is not nice. Obama's mother got pregnant out of wedlock so do you think that it would be nice to refer to him as a "b". Yes, she did marry BO, sr. but that in itself is weird since he was already married to a woman in Kenya with other kids.

Her health insurance is no doubt on her mother's Alaska Governments insurance policy since she is not 26. By the way there is no "majority" of mothers on the streets. Like most all former government officials their health care continues even after they leave office. Your rage against Bristol borders on insanity.

Give her some credit. I heard Bristol say something like "I'm conflicted because I am a spokesperson for abstinence but there I am pulling my dancing partners shirt off." If her mom ever said anything this intelligent I would be flabbergasted.
