Bristol Palin's College Sex Talk Cancelled Due to Student Opposition

Bristol Palin won't be speaking to Washington University students about teen pregnancy and abstinence. Student protests caused the university to withdraw their invitation to Bristol, Reuters reports.

The University Student Health Advisory Committee proposed the appearance as part of Student Sexual Responsibility Week and approved of spending $20,000 to sponsor the panel which would feature the 'Dancing with the Stars' alum.

But "because of the growing controversy among undergraduates over the decision to pay for the talk with student-generated funds" the committee decided it was best to cancel the abstinence advocate's appearance.

Bristol became pregnant at 17, and at 20, is now a single mom to her 2-year-old son Tripp. She's "thrilled" with her new life in Arizona, and even has a new boyfriend. Although she wasn't an abstinence practitioner during her own teenage years, she's now an outspoken advocate for waiting until marriage to have sex.

Exactly who's immature and unprepared for the real world here? The students spoke up for what they believed was an inappropriate decision made by their authority and did something about it. How is that being led? The one they did not want to have speak to them is an unwed teen mother who would be unknown except for her mother who is only famous because of John McCain's error in judgement. For your info., I have a 21 year old daughter in college, no child, doesn't party, loves to debate against abortion, illegal immigration, etc., and does NOT need Ms. Palin's advice on anything. In fact, as I stated earlier, maybe Ms. Palin should be learning from some of these how to be responsible!

Bristol Palin got pregant as a teen, so now she's an "expert" in regrets? It's ridiculous that she's made a career out of her issue. Millions of single women are raising babies by themselves and they don't have the opportunities to support themselves like Palin. She should just shut up and make the best of the extraordinary opportunities she has available to her as the daughter of a "celebrity". There are far worse things than being a single Mom.

Indeed there are. One is to grow up as the child of a single welfare mother with siblings by multiple unknown fathers. But hey, at least the single welfare mother didn't practice abstinence or actually do anything about supporting her children without the government playing daddy.

Why the hell is this girl even news??? She has sex at 16, gets knocked up at 17 and then for some godforsaken reason (ratings) did a dancing show. THAT'S. IT. Is Bristol practicing abstience now? You don't need this talk anymore what you need to tell college students is to practice safe sex. She never went to college so why is she talking to college student about what to do now. Why isn't she back in school going to college herself, she can afford it. Because she doesn't need a college degree with the Palin name and she will keep making money giving talks on sex and love which she knows nothing about.

First of all, why are we paying Bristol to speak on this subject as if she's an expert on this issue and the first girl in the world to experience teen age pregnancy? The Palins have tapped into your love of celebrity and your hate [for example, if you back us, then you hurt the liberals]. I hope it was a mistake and not Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. It's a prestigious university and I'm disappointed if they even considered having Bristol Palin speak in the first place. WTF! An offer of pay to a non-college person to speak to college students, I am sure they could have found any number of needy and worthy enrolled studets to speak on teen pregnancy and abstinence.
