Charlie Sheen Voluntarily Enters Rehab; 'Two and a Half Men' on Hiatus

After spending Thursday hospitalized for a reported hernia, Charlie Sheen left Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Now, Radaronline.com reports that the 45-year-old has checked himself into rehab.

"Charlie Sheen has voluntarily entered an undisclosed rehabilitation center today," his rep Stan Rosenfeld said. "He is most grateful to all who have expressed their concern."

'Two and a Half Men' was rescheduled to resume filming next week, but CBS has now announced the show is being placed "on production hiatus. We are profoundly concerned for (Sheen's) well-being, and support his decision."

Sheen was taken by ambulance to Cedars-Sinai yesterday morning, following several calls to 911, including two from 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' star Adrienne Maloof-Nassif and her husband.

According to TMZ, the actor was having severe abdominal pains -- the result of a hiatal hernia -- and did not suffer a drug overdose as many believed.

The star was reportedly smoking cocaine with several women leading up to his hospitalization.

A TMZ report also alleges that prior to the actor's hospitalization, a person showed up to Sheen's home with a designer "briefcase full of cocaine." Sheen allegedly began doing the drug for several hours. At the time, his rep said, "I can't comment because I have no idea if it's true. You choose to believe your source, I don't."

Sheen was previously hospitalized in October 2010 at the tail-end of a night with adult film star Capri Anderson. Authorities found Sheen drunk and naked, having badly damaged his surroundings at the Plaza Hotel in a fit of rage.

Why would you say it was not a hernia. I have the same type of hernia and have gone back to work after several days.

I believe you misunderstood. He is in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation program for a hernia.

Good Time Charlie has a hiatal hernia, same as any irration, ulcer caused by drugs, smoking, drinking etc. It eats away your insides from the throat or nose, down to the anus. If you have a hiatal hernia hurts that bad to go to ER then it would have been repaired right then and there. I have had one for about 10 years due to the medications I take for different illnesses and it has never bothered me. Didnt even know it was there until they did an exam to find out I was bleeding from the stomach due to a reaction to Naproxen.

As again proven by his rehab again today, we all are not ignorant and know what his true problems are. Well actually I think this young mans problems run so deep no one will ever know them, and I bet he will never reveil most of them they are so sordid.
Denise and that other drug lady he married needs to pull the plug on all visitation NOW, and custody, tough love like on intervetion people. Stop standing there saying "Oh Charlie, poor Charlie" with your hands OUT for gods sake and like with MJ get everyone who works for him out of his life!

A hiatal hernia (which is what it says he has) can go away in a short time with the right antacids. It's when the top of the stomach goes up through the diaphragm and causes a bubble or balloon like area above the diaphragm. It can be very painful but not dangerous and yes, he could return to work in hours if it is relieved.

If the doctor was able to pop the hernia back in, then he could resume normal activities like going back to work.

he needs to fire his publicist-that lying P.O.S. there is nothing worse than hearing lies-over and over...from hernia to rehab? hmmmm. nice try...that family and tv station is in such denial, they wont believe he has a problem until they are burrying him.

The problem is that he is a meal ticket to the people around him. One of them should be a true friend and help him because he is obvioulsy in trouble. Not everyone is as fortunate as Robert Downy Jr and is able to right the ship and continue. A friend is not someone that is there. A Friend is someone that is there and does something!

Yep-I agree. I'm surprised that they think he is going to rehab. Maybe they did a drug screen on his blood work and found the cocaine and alcohol to be present? Only reason I can think of- he might feel it best to do that and throw off the law, if possible. He'll get himself busted soon, this one is too easy. Did a world of good for Robert Downy Jr, and look at him now! Could be the only way to save this guys life at this point.
