Denise Richards 'Heartbroken,' Wants Charlie Sheen to Get Help for Kids' Sake
EXCLUSIVE: Within hours of being
hospitalized Thursday morning,
Charlie Sheen's ex-wife
Denise Richards was at his bedside once again doing everything in her power to help the troubled father of their two daughters. Sources close to the actress tell me she has joined his famous father in calling for Charlie to enter rehab.
"Denise is heartbroken and fears the day when she gets the call saying Charlie is no longer alive," a friend of the actress tells me.
This time, I'm told, is different, and Denise has decided that she is going to do whatever it takes to make Charlie realize he needs help. First things first, she believes he needs a new inner circle of friends.
"Charlie surrounds himself with yes people," an insider tells me. "If you say no to him, then you are out of his life. Denise is one of the only people that could convince him. It wouldn't be the first time Denise has begged for him to get the help he needs, but everyone is hoping that this time he listens to her."

Sheen's dad, Martin, has also reportedly signaled that he wants his son to seek help immediately. "Martin is extremely upset, as you can imagine," a source close to the family told
RadarOnline.com. "He's worried Charlie is going to kill himself."
Charlie left the hospital in secret Thursday night and his publicist, Stan Rosenfield, hinted that he has no plans to enter rehab. "He will be on the set of 'Two and a Half Men' on Tuesday," he said in a statement.
After three years of marriage, Denise and Charlie went through a bitter public divorce that was finalized in November 2006. At first, the couple agreed to shared custody of daughters Sam, 6, and Lola, 5, but last year Charlie signed parental rights over to Denise.
Charlie's prolonged meltdown, which came to a head during his rampage in a NYC hotel back in October, is putting the brutally honest Denise in an awkward position with her kids.
"It is becoming harder and harder for Denise to protect her daughters from what's going on as they get older," the star's close friend tells me. "She's an amazing mother and will not let Charlie leave these two beautiful little angels without a father. If she can't convince Charlie to get help simply because it's what he needs, then she hopes he will for the sake of his daughters."
It was a hernia that triggered the "severe abdominal pains" that sent Charlie to the hospital after a 36-hour party bender that reportedly included doing cocaine and watching porn with at least five women.
But Sheen's publicist tells me, "I have no firsthand knowledge of any of this. I have heard all of rumors you have. He [Charlie] has had a history of having this type of hernia, and the person who made the 911 call said he had severe stomach pains and said it was from a hernia condition. Since she is not a doctor, I did not extend her medical knowledge to the media."
According to PEOPLE, it was Dr. Paul Nassif and his wife Adrienne Maloof-Nassif, two stars of Bravo 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' and Sheen's neighbors, who called for help.
Good luck, Denise. The time has come for someone (and it's not going to be CBS as long as Charlie remains a ratings powerhouse) to save Charlie from himself.

They thought Robert Downey, Jr. was too far gone too. Look where he's at now... It would be nice if Robert Downey, Jr. could talk to him, but if Charlie doesn't want to be sober then he won't. As far as Denise didn't she drag him through the mud during their divorce? I didn't hear much from him. Seems like all the women in his life just want his money. I'd get tired of that and go to alcohol and drugs myself. He's got to find himself and only he can do that.
Way to go Denise. It's all about YOU.

to: themeeker, yes, yes, I agree with that Denise needs to put Charlie in Rehab ASAP or the CBS producers like they said yesterday he needs help he's out of control No Excuses!!! Do it now Denise. Do It, Do it.
Casting pearls. Some people don't understand sarcasm
EVERYONE WHO KNOWS DENISE KNOWS THAT SHE IS A WONDERFUL CARING PERSON AND CHARLIE IS LUCKY THAT SHE HAS A FORGIVING HEART SHE IS THE BEST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED TO CHARLIE AND SHE WAS VERY DEVOTED TO HIM.. UNTIL OF COURSE HE CHEATED ON HER AND BROKE HER HEART. AND SHE SEEMS TO STILL BE DEVOTED TO HELP HIM
Just because she is worried about her ex you say It"s all about her...What are you smoking !
Good luck with that. He won't go cuz he will tell everybody he doesn't have a problem. Wonder if he will be arrested for the coke. Wait he's Charlie Sheen, laws don't apply to him.

Charlie, quit having kids and getting married for awhile. Go to rehab. Try to figure out why you can't be happy unless you are high and surrounded by hookers. Again, go to rehab.

Denise gets zilch if he dies probably hes a selfish one probably trying to deplete all his money before he croaks

BINGO! The prize goes to " r " because now that Chuckie signed over his rights all payments of support are void! Even life insurance won't go to those kids! Unless he decided to make them beneficiaries and had the foresight to add the words " without contest " so the others in his life can't make the girls wait and fight it out in probate upon his death! Maybe Denise does have some ace up her sleeve but given the storm this jerk has taken her kids through-I doubt it; after all, one day she will have to explain to them why he disowned them legally when it was HE who was the problem all along. As for that silly show of his-I stopped watching years ago; the half kid grew way up and the plot was always the same-Charlie screws people out of one thing or another while loafing off his brother. That could have been handled in one epsiode! CBS should add a morals clause to his next contract renewal and then the first time he messes up he is gone like a sports star! Rehab manditory upon breach!
Will these people ever get enough publicity. Seems they are addicteed to that as well. What narcissistic behavior on both parts. Poor kids involved.

Besides the hospitalizations, sounds like Charlie is having one hell of a life. Endless money, porn stars, and blow??? WOW......

he's going to end up dead real soon if he doesn't at least get the desire to be clean.

Charlie's not only burning the candle at both ends, he's throwing the whole candle into the fire.

There must be an underlying problem that triggers this in him.
Read about being bi polar, could be? This is either inherited or chemical imbalance, which causes all sorts of drama in a persons' life.
Totally agree he needs help, and I think Denise is only trying to do the right thing.
He's a great actor and it would be ashame if something bad did really happen to him.

I can't believe the people saying Charlie needs rehab. He needs to have everything he has threatened to be taken away if he doesn't make a change. This whole addict thing is just a bunch of B.S. - He'll only stop if he's made to stop. Cancel the show and somebody who can needs to sieze his bank accounts, credit cards etc. - He'll never stop when he's being rewarded for his behavior. He has no reason to. Given enough reason, Charlie is not stupid, he will change!

It's Charlie who's the flake. I am tired of everyone bashing Denise. Charlie needs to get a clue and grow up. It's not a character flaw to care about an ex who has major issues.

His fans could help him also if they care about one wit. Stop watching his show.

I remember the Charlie Sheen who played in "Platoon"he was so good in that movie. He is now on a downward spiral that will end in his death.he needs help, and if Two and a Half Men care anything about him, they should demand he get it..........Money cannot buy happiness, but it can buy a whole lot of trouble.

Maybe the producers of his show should put Charlie Harper the character in rehab and the real Charlie Sheen could be in rehab all off hours so no chance of getting in trouble. Just work and seclusion.
