Lisa Rinna a Possible Replacement for Regis?

Regis Philbin isn't ready to say who he thinks would be the best replacement for him when he leaves 'Live' at the end of the summer, but one of the names that keeps popping up in the executive suites over at ABC is none other than Lisa Rinna.

"Lisa has proved she can do the job," one exec tells me. "She has co-hosted the show with Regis, filled in for Joy Behar on her show and was even better than Billy Bush when she stepped into his shoes on 'Access Hollywood's' new daytime show."

Could she do it? Absolutely, but there are questions like what would her chemistry be like with Kelly, and would she be willing to move her entire family from sunny LA to the snowpocalypse that is NYC?

Always the class act, my friend Lisa wouldn't comment on any of the speculation but did tell me, "Regis taught me everything that I know. He is the king!"

[Fun Fact: Lisa and I were at the show the morning the magnificent Kathie Lee Gifford announced she was leaving.]

Now, with the idea of co-hosting 'Live' in her head, Lisa has started to exude some of her trademark confidence and pointed out that this wouldn't be the first time she's been up for the job.

"You know, back 10 years ago I filled in many times with Regis when Kathie Lee left," Lisa reminded me. "I've been so fortunate enough to co-host with him at least 10 times or more and was up for the job to replace Kathie Lee, but of course Kelly was the perfect choice for it."

Indeed she was, but now she needs a co-pilot. Paging ABC!

Don't need a female to replace a male. Kelly has had many, many times she' carried the show with the help of some really great co-host substitutes. Any one of them would be great. PLEASE don't mess with something if it is working and enjoyed by millions every day!!

I definitely agree. Kelly's flirtatious and "cuddles" up to Regis. I think having a woman for a co-host would ruin that for Kelly. And I love Kelly!

No way Lisa Rena, her lips give me the creeps, it should be a male figure to replace Regis. She has had so many male co-hosts, Kelly should be the one to pick from them.

Iam not going to watch if she gets the job. Iam all ready having a problem with Regis not being there. I have all ways like Kelly from her days at All My Children. It should be a man.

NOOOOOOO!!!!! I think Howie Mandel would be a great replacement...although it would be better if the network would work on keeping Regis.....

Not Howier Mandel. 1) He is over exposed, 2) Every show that he hosts goes down the toilet bowl. How about Sam Champion from GMA,
or Tuc Watkins (David Vickers) from OLTL Both of thesse men are
eye candy

Howie Mandel has done a good job as a Regis sub, but IMO, Pat Sajak would be even better. Definitely needs to be a man, though.

I'm retired and have watched the show for years, and.....sorry Regis, I'm happy that your monster ego is walking. You've been out of tune with the times for years, dementia or whatever. It's well past time to hit the road - and take Gelman with you.
