Lisa Rinna a Possible Replacement for Regis?

Regis Philbin isn't ready to say who he thinks would be the best replacement for him when he leaves 'Live' at the end of the summer, but one of the names that keeps popping up in the executive suites over at ABC is none other than Lisa Rinna.

"Lisa has proved she can do the job," one exec tells me. "She has co-hosted the show with Regis, filled in for Joy Behar on her show and was even better than Billy Bush when she stepped into his shoes on 'Access Hollywood's' new daytime show."

Could she do it? Absolutely, but there are questions like what would her chemistry be like with Kelly, and would she be willing to move her entire family from sunny LA to the snowpocalypse that is NYC?

Always the class act, my friend Lisa wouldn't comment on any of the speculation but did tell me, "Regis taught me everything that I know. He is the king!"

[Fun Fact: Lisa and I were at the show the morning the magnificent Kathie Lee Gifford announced she was leaving.]

Now, with the idea of co-hosting 'Live' in her head, Lisa has started to exude some of her trademark confidence and pointed out that this wouldn't be the first time she's been up for the job.

"You know, back 10 years ago I filled in many times with Regis when Kathie Lee left," Lisa reminded me. "I've been so fortunate enough to co-host with him at least 10 times or more and was up for the job to replace Kathie Lee, but of course Kelly was the perfect choice for it."

Indeed she was, but now she needs a co-pilot. Paging ABC!

We already have one show with Kathie Lee and Hoda, another one is not necessary!

I agree...1 show w/ 2 women is MORE than enough! Hoda tries to 'outtalk' KLG and I'm sick of hearing about Kathy Lee's "VERY VERY DEAR CLOSE FRIENDS" and then she names about 10 actors/actresses. And everyone is sick of hearing of her weekend trips to 'the Hamptons' etc. Also, I bet she's making Frank still pay DEARLY for his 'bad behaviour'! Yet she talkes about him as if he's a saint. Most times I use the 'mute' button when they both (or all if there's a guest on)start talking at once.

OMG.....big lips....the show will be off the air.....in a matter of weeks with low ratings. It has been a great run with Regis and Kelly!

Absolutely not !!!! You need to put another man in the position, that is what that show is meant to be, besides you have too many all girl talk shows in the day time.

Although, I enjoy Lisa in her acting and even as a person (like viewed in DWTS), I believe the replacement for Regis should be a male...This way you have both sides of the conversation represented.

I agree that Regis' replacement should be a male. Not that I do not like Lisa Rinna. We already have Kathy and Hoda, as an all female show, and The View. Lisa is good at all she does, but I just think that Kelly plays better, off of a male co-host. Best senerio- keep Regis, but if it is inevitable that Regis is leaving, please replace him with a male.

I think this is a perfect choice as most watchers are elderly woman, stay at home mom's, Spinsters with cats and Nursing homes where the Old Guys would enjoy watching a couple Gals and the woman patients most likely will fall asleep and not get jeolous !

Should be a male replacement. On Lisa Rinna, very difficult to look at. Too much work done on her face and her lips are so unnatural. As a daily watcher of Regis and Kelly, I would find another show to watch at that time.

Don't know if you're all aware of this but Lisa DID have her lips REDONE...it was on AOL about 2 months ago...she said she regretted ever having her lips enlarged and she was going to 'deflate' them, they even had photos.
