Lisa Rinna a Possible Replacement for Regis?

Regis Philbin isn't ready to say who he thinks would be the best replacement for him when he leaves 'Live' at the end of the summer, but one of the names that keeps popping up in the executive suites over at ABC is none other than Lisa Rinna.

"Lisa has proved she can do the job," one exec tells me. "She has co-hosted the show with Regis, filled in for Joy Behar on her show and was even better than Billy Bush when she stepped into his shoes on 'Access Hollywood's' new daytime show."

Could she do it? Absolutely, but there are questions like what would her chemistry be like with Kelly, and would she be willing to move her entire family from sunny LA to the snowpocalypse that is NYC?

Always the class act, my friend Lisa wouldn't comment on any of the speculation but did tell me, "Regis taught me everything that I know. He is the king!"

[Fun Fact: Lisa and I were at the show the morning the magnificent Kathie Lee Gifford announced she was leaving.]

Now, with the idea of co-hosting 'Live' in her head, Lisa has started to exude some of her trademark confidence and pointed out that this wouldn't be the first time she's been up for the job.

"You know, back 10 years ago I filled in many times with Regis when Kathie Lee left," Lisa reminded me. "I've been so fortunate enough to co-host with him at least 10 times or more and was up for the job to replace Kathie Lee, but of course Kelly was the perfect choice for it."

Indeed she was, but now she needs a co-pilot. Paging ABC!

Are you kidding me? All we would hear about is what their kids do everyday. I stopped watching about 3 years ago, cuz of Kelly's ego. Just cancel the show after Regis leaves. Kelly can do something else, she was talking about staying home and raising her kids.

Lisa may be great w/Regis but Kelly needs to play off against a man. Her husband, Mark, still gets my vote.

No way would Lisa be good, no way ever. First of all, you need another man for Kelly, and someone who has a great sense of humor. Howie is good, but there are better. Especially for all those millions. I don't have a suggestion, but it MUST BE A MAN. The new team at American Idol is very good, confident, fast and know what they are doing. SO, IT IS VERY POSSIBLE TO HAVE A SHOW CONTINUE WITH A PERSONNEL CHANGE, BUT IT MUST BE A MAN, NOT JUST ANY MAN.

Why can't we have a man....all these talk shows and its a bunch of women. There are plenty of WITTY, GOOD looking men that could handle that job, its not rocket science.

I don't think replacing Regis with Lisa is a good idea. I think the chemistry between Lisa and Kelly would just not work. Who gets top billing,..Lisa?? We already have The View and The Talk, do we need ANOTHER female driven daytime show? Don't think so!

Lissa Rinna is a very good actress but I don't think it would work as co host with Kelly. I think it should be a man. I think it should be Kelly's husband. They have great chemistrey together and how many other shows are hosted by a husband and wife team? Everything they say would play off of each other perfectly. He's also good on the eyes for us ladies.

No way her hubby-as nice as he may be-it will turn into a reality show of the family via gossip, pictures etc. She does this too often now-just like Kathy Lee had done and she was finally asked to leave..
I have indicted in another article I believe Tony Danza (as Theresa Mercurio) above and others may have stated.
What do you think-Tony Danza????
