The Script Get into the Talk Show 'Zone'

After
The Script's recent promo blitz, which saw them drop in on everyone from
Ellen DeGeneres and
David Letterman to
Jimmy Kimmel, the Dublin trio knows a thing or two about handling stage fright when it comes to performing on TV.
"Mentally, you can't start thinking about millions of people at home watching on the TV because that gets overwhelming," drummer Glen Power tells
PopEater. "You have to treat it like any other gig and get in the right zone in your head, really, so you just focus on the song and get it done."
Then again, you can't be too focused on barreling through the song. You need to make sure the charisma is cued up, too, especially if you're a guest on '
The Ellen DeGeneres Show' where impromptu dance parties are fair game.
"I quite enjoy being goofy really. I just don't know if I want to do it on camera in front of millions of people. I really don't love it that much," says Power, relieved that he and his bandmates weren't asked to bust out the moonwalk when they appeared on the show last week to promote their latest record, 'Science and Faith.'
Power insists the group finally have a handle on the talk show circuit, but realizes you have to be prepared for anything when walking into the studio -- including frigid temperatures if you're appearing on '
Late Show With David Letterman.'
"It's actually very cold. It's probably the coldest TV studio we've actually even been in," says Power. "Partly the reason for that is you can't make people laugh when they're warm. But I mean really cold."
