After recent hinting in the press, Boy George confirms: Culture Club will reunite next year. The singer, 49, also promises a "proper huge worldwide tour" starring the iconic '80s hitmakers. The announcement comes during the run-up to the release of his solo album 'Ordinary Alien,' partly written while he served four months in prison for the assault and false imprisonment of a male escort.
Responding to a question about a Culture Club reunion, sent to the BBC's 'Breakfast' show late last week by celebrity fan Mark Ronson (a top producer in the industry, and brother of Lindsay Lohan's ex, Samantha Ronson), Boy George replied: "We are getting back together. Next year. This year [I'm touring] on my own. It's kind of a precursor for what I'm doing with Culture Club in 2012. We'll be doing a proper huge worldwide tour. And a new album."
The reunion falls on the band's 30th anniversary. They nearly hit the road together in 2006, when original bandmates Mikey Craig and Jon Moss announced a Culture Club comeback, but their flamboyant frontman declined to sign on, and plans were soon scrapped.

A huge and proper world tour? Will they be the headliner or will it be the puppet show?

I would rather light myself on fire and run through an ammunition factory than see that concert !

Culture Club was indeed my favorite swinging band of the 80 s. I remembered some groovy tunes that kept me high without the weed! I thought that Boy George was at least 4 years older then me. Is he really 49?

Hard to believe that he was 20 back in 1982 (29 years ago) singing "Do you Really Want To Hurt Me" dressed up like a chick. No wonder why he is so messed up today.
I loved his music back in the day, but cannot seriously buy a ticket for a guy that held another person prisoner.

U go "Boy", everybody deserves a reinvention of themselves, Madonna did it many times, Ga Ga does it all the time. Rock on "Boy"!

Good grief, is he not over the wild makeup yet. That is so over. No one likes that look. Adam Lambert failed trying to be cool with over the top makeup and that failed. Maybe in the 80s people accepted it, but not now a days. It is just creepy for male singers to look so weird.

So agree. I wish he would go for a natural look and dump the eye shadow and lipstick. Boy George should be Man George by now. He does look creepy with the makeup.
I thought they put out some good music. But I would not go see them in concert.

Bring's back a old Robin William's routine...'Do you really want to hurt me' then in a southern drawls he says 'Yes boy we do'!

I LOVE all the haters on here! The BOY and the BAND are brilliant. Of course he did drugs and went to prison, he's a pop star! They are 1 of my all time favorites and he really understands POP music (and how to rock some dreads and dresses). LOVE THEM!
