No More Amicable Split for Halle Berry; Actress Fights for Custody of Daughter

Halle Berry's split with Gabriel Aubry is getting ugly. The Oscar winning actress is taking Aubry to court to fight for custody of their two-year-old daughter Nahla, and she has some harsh things to say about her ex.

According to UsMagazine.com, Berry has gone so far as to clear her schedule by pulling out of the upcoming film 'New Year's Eve.' "Halle Berry was forced to pull out of a film production in New York this week due to pending custody litigation involving her daughter," her rep said. "She attempted to resolve these custody issues amicably with her daughter's father, Gabriel Aubry, directly, but given his lack of cooperation, Halle has no choice but to seek swift judicial intervention."

Berry's rep added that the actress "has serious concerns for her daughter's well-being while in the care of her father for any extended period of time and is prepared to take all necessary steps to protect her."

Berry and Aubry were said to have had an amicable split in April 2010, and the two continued co-parenting and described themselves as "still friends." But when Aubry filed papers in December formally requesting to be recognized as Nahla's father to establish shared custody, things got trickier.

Berry's rep added that "Halle has always made the needs and safety of her daughter her first priority and, both while Halle and Gabriel were a couple and since their break-up, Halle has only acted in her daughter's best interest."

Since her split with Aubry, Berry's entered into a relationship with actor Olivier Martinez and has even put pressure on her new beau to have a baby.

I am beginning to think she is a loser. she always blames the men but marriage after marriage and relationship after relationship dont work. It wouldnt matter if the child wasnt involved but she will end up getting hurt. she should concentrate on raising her daughter and fly solo for awhile.

Halle has never had a good relationship with any man. They beat her, cheated on her and pretty much dumped her. I dont think it is fair that she would want to take any custody rights from the father. This little girl is his child too. If anyone needs to be careful it should be her since she admitted to wanting to kill herself. Let the father be in his childs life. halle is beautiful but she definitly has issues.

ok...first of all..halle is playing dirty...She wants he daughter all to herself...doesn't want to share...so lets start making up crap about the father...Oliver....watch very carefully.....this will be a repeat if you decide to have a baby with her.....she really must think she is something special....Does she ever once think about a her child needing both a mother and a father..wow...very selfish and self centered...just because you are a beautiful women doesn't mean life should revolve around just you...

Unfortunately, Halle isn't thinking about the fact that her love life is so messed up because of her lack of a relationship with her own father. If ANYONE is unfit to parent it might be her. She's the one who hit that woman's car and left the scene. There is a reason no man can sustain a relationship with that chick.

DO these unmarried celebs realize that these are children, not the latest fashion accessory? What about him wanting to truly co-parent his daughter is so scary to her? She is not a toy, she is a child who needs her dad as much as her mother and Halle better recognize this fact before her daughter ends up suffering from the same lack of self esteem that she does. Halle is always man hopping looking for the relationship she never had with her father. Years of therapy hasn't helped her at all.

..another narcissitic actor only concerned with what she wants and trying to play the power card so this is how she punishes the father....no matter that her daughter very much loves AND needs him and with all the sleazebag dads that refuse to accept responsibility, she wants to play games with one that wants be accountable?? I hope the judge sees through her and that money does not buy her out of this...

There is really something wrong with Halle Berry. Her track record with men is not good. Can't all be the men who are at fault. She is looking a bit screwed up. I am glad I will never have to be one of her throw away men. Wouldn't want her and all her issue's anyway.

He was a great dad according to her prior to him filing for joint custody which is what most couples have. He is the girl's father and does have rights also. She is playing dirty just to get what SHE wants not what is best for the child.

I really like Halle Berry but for crying out loud, she has a baby by a Father who loves his child and wants to be in her life. He has every right! Look at all the men who father babies and leave to never try to be a part of their lives. I think it is very selfish of her to try and make him look bad for her own selfish needs. He seems like a loving Father and she should take that into consideration. What if something happened to her...who would she want to take her little girl? I read that he is a very down to earth man with a good reputation.

The only reason Halle hooked up with this guy is for stud purposes only. The old clock was ticking and given her past fail relationships all she was interested in now was finding a "baby daddy". I guess she didn't count on her daughter's father wanting to have a real presence in her life which was probably why every thing was "amicable" as long as Halle called the shots. What she doesn't seem to get is that you can't play with people lives. The man wants be a part of his daughter's life & Halle has no right denying him of that.

Clearly he's the child's Father and should have the rights any parent would have. If she had/has serious concerns about him, she's never said so before, and it's odd she would have a child with him if she thought so. I think she's used to getting whatever she wants/and how she wants it and is being a bit of the B word. You go on Gabriel. Seriously, he's probably more available to spend time with the child anyway.

Halle is used to getting her own way. She wanted a pretty baby so she linked up with Gabriel to get one. Except Daddy WANTED to be a daddy and Halle is/was shocked. She thought she could get her pretty baby and send the sperm donor on his way. 'Cept Daddy has no intention of leaving his baby girl. That makes Halle mad. Halle ALWAYS gets her way, so now she's makin' up stuff to trash Daddy to make the COURTS take him away. Not gonna happen. This Dad's not deserting his Princess and I delight in that. Halle is a selfish narcissistic biatch. Everything is all about Halle all the time, doncha know? Nahla is Halle's bracelet, her adornment. She doesn't share her bracelets with ANYONE. I predict Halle'll try and buy off Daddy but I don't think Daddy has a price. Good thing for Nahla, who needs her daddy. You go, Gabriel.

One of the worst things any parent can do, is talk bad about the other one, in front of the child. It will make the child think badly about the one who does the talking, sooner or later.
Its horrible to talk bad about anyone, but to talk badly about ones mother or father, is a huge mistake.
If Halle is trashing the childs father, shame on her, it will back fire in time. Not to even mention, its a huge sin.

I meant to say psychological help!

Also, two things. One: I think leaving the baby with her daddy is a good solution while Halle goes away to film pictures. Daddy is very attentive and loving. What more could she want? Daddy is better than a hired Nanny. Besides, how much time does Halle have to spend with Nahla when filming, hmmmm? Two: If Gabriel wants to start a website for PayPal donations to have money to fight Halle's big bucks' lawyers, us little people can donate some money. It adds up after a while.
