Bret Michaels Has Post-Surgery Health Scare

Rocker Bret Michaels suffered a minor health scare following heart surgery, according to PEOPLE.

The 'Rock of Love' star's blood pressure dropped dramatically, which is a significant cause of concern, but his doctors have determined the cause, and Michaels is fine.

"Bret suffered no setbacks and is fine," said Dr. Mansour Assar, an interventional cardiologist. "It's always good for patients to be evaluated when they're not feeling well."

Michaels underwent surgery last month to fix a hole in his heart. Doctors discovered the hole after the rocker suffered a massive subarachnoid hemorrhage in April 2010 that left him hospitalized in critical condition.

Michaels has been recuperating since his successful surgery and celebrating his new engagement with fiancee Kristi Gibson.

Michaels proposed in December 2010 on the finale of his VH1 show, 'Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It.' The couple have dated on and off for 17 years and have two children together.

Considering all the health problems he has had for a very long time he has managed to make something of his life. Most people with those problems would have just staid at home and not try to do anything special. You may not like his lifestyle but he has handled his health problems with style and grace. Hope he is able to get back to what he loves to do. Best wishes Bret...

I dont really care much for Brett. I give him kudos for keeping positive and surviving all of these recent health problems. However,as an artist he never really impressed me. His 15 minutes of fame should have ended back in 89.

I wish Brett the best, I had open heart surgery to repain a pulomoary hypertension blood pressure between the heart and lung and was back working in 5 weeks, have retired since as it also gave me two ruptured disks in my back from speading me open 6 inches to do the surgery and now I have to deal with that but I am alive and will deal with it, God gives us second chances so make the best of them and enjoy life

Brett maybe somewhat douchey in his lame shows but it seems like he has a heart of gold and a sincere caring person down under all that glam rocker persona that is long gone .

Brett gives his time and money to diabetes cure research and that shows he is a standup guy and cares and thats all that matters now .
