Diddy Presents Son a Custom Limousine for Making the Honor Roll
Diddy doesn't mess around when it comes to giving out presents.
The Independent reports that he recently gifted his 17-year-old son, Justin, with yet another Mercedes Maybach for his birthday. The teen received his first Maybach, worth over $300,000 when he was just 16, but Diddy upped the ante this time around, giving Justin the limousine version of the luxury vehicle.
"Justin has turned himself around and is now an honors student, which he wasn't before, so I wanted to treat him," Diddy explained of the lavish gift valued at $390,000. "It's a collector's car so maybe he will use it for special occasions like on a first date, but like all my kids, he prefers the simpler things than the expensive things. Simple tastes."
Last year, the hip-hop mogul was criticized for giving his son such an expensive gift, which was chronicled on the MTV show 'My Super Sweet 16.' Diddy fought back at his critics, remarking that the opposition was based less around his finances and more around his skin color. "The whole thing about giving a Maybach to my son, that's really like a racist question," he said in response to an
interview with journalist Martin Bashir, who questioned his decision to give his son the car.
"You don't ask white people what they buy their kids," Diddy continued. "And they buy 'em Porsches and convertible Bentleys, and it ain't no question. It's really a racist question and put things back in perspective with money and the way that people still look at you. And I'm not saying that consciously he's a racist. But he probably don't even realize that he would not ask Steve Jobs that. He would be like Steve Jobs has that money, and that's the gift his kid is supposed to get."
Aside from Justin, Diddy is also father to son Christian, 12, twin girls, D'Lila Star and Jessie James, 4, daughter Chance, 4, and stepson Quincy, 19.

Exactly! Just because he's a multi millionaire he has the nerve to spend the money he earned from all those white kids who buy his music and watch his shows to spend his money on his kids. If he were a real man like Charlie Sheen he'd spend it all on Hookers and Drugs and make White People Happy Right?

Diddy ripping off Eminem? That may be so, as I don't listen to rap music or watch the videos. But, you make this statement without acknowledging that Eminem, a White person, broke into a genre that was started and dominated by Blacks? Are you kidding me?
I think it is too much for any kid to receive a gift like that, regardless of race. I understand that if parents have the means their kids will likely benefit from that, but just because a parent has the money does not mean outlandish gifts are the best thing for the child. If they are given everything at a young age, what is there to work toward on their own someday? I don't know the kind of parent Diddy is, and I am not here to judge, I just hope he is teaching them not to let their life revolve around materialism.

When my son was on the honor role, I just cooked what ever he wanted for a while, and told him, and everyone that would listen, how proud I was of him.
Then again, im no rich person. But I came from a father that had some money, and he treated us kids the same way.
He would just brag about us when we did good in school.
He never bought any of us a car either, we had to earn it our selves. The pride a kid feels when they learn what all they can do for their selves, is nothing to cheat a kid out of.
We do our kids no favors, when we give them everything they want.
If we dont teach our own kids about responsibilities who will?

diddy definitely has a point.as many times as "my sweet 16" airs on tv nobody evers says anything about the lavish parties/cars that the "whites" give their kids yet here he is buying his son a maybach.he has money and why not spend it on his kids.he's earned that money, why not let him spend it how he wants to.parents/teachers/relatives/friends/strangers give rewards for example making good grades in school.its just not on a scale as diddy's.whn kids turn 16,graduate from hs or college parents get them a car or whatever as a REWARD.i know i got a car whn i got my license.

I don't think it is anybody's place to have an opinion on what someone buys for there children. I bought my kid a Mercedes for graduation this year. It didn't cost quite as much as a Maybach, but guess what? I paid cash and Im sure P.Diddy did too! We need people who have money to spend money, have you taken a look at our economy lately?

This is for the people who think Diddy is uneducated...he graduated from Howard University and got an internship for a record label. He used the experience he got to start his own label. Unlike many of the famous for being famous trash out there today (Paris, Kim, Khloe, Housewives of...)Whatever you think about him, he has made millions being a smart business man...i.e...clothing line, perfume, music, liquor...eateries....diversity in business...I think the gift was a bit over the top but he can spend his money anyway he likes.
