New Details Emerge in Halle Berry Custody Case

Halle Berry's once civil split with former partner Gabriel Aubry is turning into an acrimonious custody battle over the couple's 2-year-old daughter, Nahla.

The Oscar-winning actress told Vogue following their 2010 split, "We're still friends, we love each other very much, and we both share the love of our lives. And we are both 100 percent committed to being the best parents we can be."

The tides have turned, however, and the former couple, who originally came to a custody agreement without the aid of their lawyers, are now getting ready to duke it out in court.

Berry's rep told Us Weekly, "Halle has serious concerns for her daughter's well-being while in the care of her father for any extended period of time and is prepared to take all necessary steps to protect her," in addition to claims that Aubry was inattentive to his daughter's needs and has a jealous streak.

Aubry's account of his relationship and the subsequent period tells a different story.

According to TMZ, the model-actor claims that while Berry was shooting a film last August, she would leave Nahla for days, despite having agreed to care for the tot.

Following their breakup, when Aubry began dating other women, he alleges that Berry would become enraged and call him, spouting abuses. Aubry also asserts that Berry cares more about her relationships with men, including current beau Olivier Martinez, than she does about her relationship with Nahla.

Aubry, who filed a paternity petition for Nahla in December 2010, has not issued an official statement on the custody battle.

So what if Halle is gone for days; she's an actress and she acts for a living. Are these two individuals married? How sick can this creep Aubrey be, he's wants custody of the child and child support. What's the problem Aubrey can't find a JOB? If this guy had custody of the child, how would he support her; he wants child support. To be honest, I think he is all about the money. Gheez, such a freakin looser; get a life and grow up. Halle is well capable of supporting and caring for her child. And, all you miserable whinners, shut up and go to your room.

So judgemental! Everytime you saw Halle outside of working, her daughter was with her so please find some other reason to hate on her cause that is crap! She is not married and should be able to date who ever she wants to. Her past relationships is not her fault when they cheated on her including Mr. model. I did like them together but he cheated and now he is mad because she found someone else. As for the oscars, she deserved that and she got it so chill out!

To answer Charlie... first. Halle is far from dysfunctional. Her problem is that she cares about other people too much and puts them before herself. To Blonde Ambition - yes, they all cheated on her - from the baseball player (he was also physically abusive), to Eric Bonet - he was a male wh... The only one I don't know about is the male model.

And before anyone asks "how do you know?", I have a very close relative who does know her and is always lamenting about how badly she gets treated. She's way too soft and a very genuine person. So stop the sniping!

I think Berry is being incredibly selfish. It seems to me that she's got a new boyfriend and has decided that her child's father is in the way. I think she should accept that she cannot control this situation as much as she'd like. If she cuts her daughter off from her REAL father, the child will only hate her when she's older - I've seen it happen.

Berry needs someone to give her a reality check and make her understand that what she's doing is cruel beyond words. It seems she's going for custody NOT because she's 'worried about her daughter's safety' but because her ex wants to be LEGALLY recognised as her daughter's father; Berry doesn't want this as she will no longer have total control.....very, VERY selfish lady.

It seems to me that every man this woman is involved with gets the shaft at the end of their relationship. She seems to never part amicably with any of them and they are always to blame. I think she may have control issues and I think any man that has a relationship with her is only asking for trouble.
