Michael Lohan: Lindsay Didn't Steal, She Got the Necklace on Consignment

Lindsay Lohan's latest scandal revolves around a $2,500 necklace that she was seen taking from a high-end jewelry story near her Venice Beach home, and although she could face charges of grand theft, her father calls it one big "ridiculous" misunderstanding.

"When Lindsay wants jewlery, she askes me and I buy it. And if I think it's too pricey, she buys it," he tells me. "She gets so much on consignment and that's exactly what happened here."

Michael isn't buying reports that the jeweler and the police worked together for weeks to craft a sting operation in order to catch the 'Mean Girls' star wearing a $2,500 necklace.

"If she took something, it would have been addressed at the end of that business day."

According to RadarOnline.com, a police report was filed the day of the incident, and that authorities purporsely waited until she was photographed wearing the necklace.

A friend of the actress turned the necklace in to the Pacific Division of the LAPD Tuesday night.

Kamofie & Co. reported the necklace stolen on Jan. 22, roughly three weeks after the actress was released from three months of court-ordered rehab at the Betty Ford Center.

I have had enough of the wooo is me ATTITUDE. Once and for all end all of the drama. She has not learned anything, maybe prison would teach her to be accountable for her own actions. Who knows, some indviduals just can't, won't learn. America needs to boycot anything to do with Lindsay Lohan and any industry that promotes her in anyway. Harsh reality check is what that girl needs.

I saw on a show recently all the previous "consignments" (thefts) she has been accused of prior to this -- but I seem to recall an incident a couple of years ago where she was wearing some expensive jewelry for a magazine photo shoot and they "disappeared" -- I believe she came up with some story about those too -- it sure appears she has a sticky fingers problem -- need I say, "more therapy"? And her dad needs to quit enabling (covering up for) her!

HAHAHA! An inventive excuse and lie, if I've ever heard one. Remember, folks, this isn't the first necklace Lohan has "taken on consignment." Also, don't forget the fur wrap, coat or whatever. Remember, she's the one who modeled something, and thought that gave her the right to "take it on consignment" home with her. HAHAHA This is ridiculous. All you thieves and fellow shoplifters out there, take heart; it's worth a try-use this excuse in court and see if the judge buys it.

What the heck does that mean, "she got it on consignment." That term would be used in "she TOOK it on consignment," meaning she was going to sell it and give the owner a certain percentage of proceeds. If it was ON consignment and she purchased it, then the owner would get a percentage of the proceeds. But "getting it on consignment" doesn't even make sense. Why am I not surprised?

I do believe if she got it on consignment, THE STORE WOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT. Daddy, sit down and shut up. SHE STOLE THE THING. She tried it on IN THE STORE and after SHE LEFT, THE NECKLACE WAS GONE ALSO. Idiots.

I can hear Michael now, making excuses for his daughter by the time she was 16 years old. Huge mistake.
Never will it help any child, when parents make excuses for them. Lindsay is a great example of what excuses do for a kid, they grow up to be just like her.
My sons will tell anyone, never did I make up any excuses for them,, unless it was real. We do need to defend our kids when we know their right, but stealing? Michael should keep his pie hole closed, like her promised to do a month ago. And let Lindsay swim her way out of this one on her own.
