'Pirates 4' Super Bowl Trailer: Captain Jack Sparrow Battles Blackbeard

What will a 'Pirates' movie without Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom look like? Is Captain Jack (the inestimable Johnny Depp) still crazy after all these years? We got some answers with the 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides' trailer, which aired during the third quarter of Super Bowl XLV.

Captain Jack's new adventure flings him together with "mermaids, zombies [and] Blackbeard," that dreaded "pirate that all pirates fear," played by 'Deadwood' star Ian McShane. Jack's got a new traveling companion, too: the mysterious Angelica (Penelope Cruz), a woman from his past who either loves him or has an ulterior motive (isn't that always the way?).

Angelica enlists Jack's help in finding the Fountain of Youth, forces him on board Blackbeard's ship and away we go. The trailer gives us a glimpse of Angelica in action, Blackbeard being snarly and Jack being, well, Jack. There's also a lovely mermaid (Astrid Berges-Frisbey) and the young missionary (Sam Claflin) who's trying to protect her -- just like Tom Hanks in 'Splash'!

Pirate shows are always cool no matter how old you get! If you don't like pirates of the caribbean it's because you must be jealous of Johnny Depp. Love him to death.

I am so friggin excited! I REALLY hoped that Will and Elizabeth would be back, but CAPTAIN JACK is the one who truly makes these movies what they are. Love anything Depp is in. I'm a little upset about Cruz. Not who I envisioned playing opposite Depp. I just don't care for her that much.
