No matter how many drugs Charlie Sheen allegedly does, no matter how many porn stars he's reportedly tied to, 'Two and a Half Men' continues its ratings success as CBS' cash cow. But why?
In a new nationwide poll of 700 Americans ranging from age 13 to 59, The Hollywood Reporter discovered some serious Sheen support. It turns out 82 percent of women and 76 percent of men say they'll continue watching the show regardless of Sheen's debauchery and personal issues.
►26 percent of the people surveyed view Sheen in a "much more" or "somewhat more" favorable light after hearing about his recent trip to the hospital.
►90 percent of Sheen's and the show's "avid fans" don't consider the actor's substance abuse problematic as long as he does his job.
►96 percent of viewers wish for Sheen to return to 'Two and a Half Men.' Just 4 percent want him to quit.
Our other favorite statistics include 56 percent thinking the show should address Sheen's real-life problems, 59 percent believing Sheen isn't quite acting but more playing himself and 62 percent saying the media should lay off.
A friend of the 45-year-old actor's recently toldPopEater's Naughty But Nice Rob Shuter, "If the ratings go through the roof again, as they did after Charlie's incident in New York ... Charlie will be out [of rehab] again in no time and back to his old ways. However, if the public finally stops rewarding Charlie for his bad behavior, then, and only then, can you expect him to take the situation seriously."
The latest news is that Sheen will return to 'Two and a Half Men' by the end of February.
Curious how PopEater's editors feel? Watch our video:
Why can't people just let this be. We have been down this road with Charlie Sheen before. Get A CLUE. He doesn't think he has a problem. He is a grown man who sorry is very funny. He needs to want to change. Obviously he is not ready. Isn't 1 of the 12 steps is to admit you have a problem? As long as he continues to make money the network does not care. As long as he does what he is supposed to he will continue down this path. Who are any of you to judge him. It's his life. If hehas a death wish it is his. You can't save someone who does not want to be saved. Leave him go. Let him live his life.
the worst thing they did for the show was to get charlie engaged. that dragged the whole show to a halt. "charlie, what are your feelings?" "charlie, you should be nicer."charlie,..." they should have knocked chelse off. this season charlie on tv looks like the drunken and drugged charlie in real life. look at the first episode and the recent "charlie sheen has bad teeth" photo. it's one in the same.
maybe CBS figures that "if life gives you lemons, make lemonaid".
I wonder how Charlie's behavior influenced the young actor who has played the role of the nephew (Angus Jones). He has been in that cast and exposed to Sheen's BS throughout his young, impressionable years. I certainly hope his parents advised him to look at Charlie as an example of what not to do.
If he does not stop he will be dead in less than 2 and 1/2 years. Of drug and alcohol abuse. ( AND PEOPLE DON'T ACT SURPRISED ) everyone lets him do this...
Yes I love the show, it makes me laugh. Especially when everything is so tough financially these days and stress with work and so forth, I like a show that is light and makes me laugh. It is not anyone's job, especially the media, to judge someone and their lifestyle. To each their own. If anyone should be reworked on the show, it's Alan. They have had him do so pretty stupid scenarios such as with the dummy. Apparently Charlie does a great job because he is on one of the highest rated shows. So if he works hard and plays hard, so be it.
Yada, yada, yada. I'm so sick of Charlie Sheen and his ongoing 'problems.' Personally, I think Alan, Jake, Berta, Rose, and Evelyn are as funny as if not funnier than Charlie. The writers should send him for a swim in the ocean and go on without him. Pay the cast and stop paying his ridiculous salary until he's ready to act. Monday night's episode, with little of Charlie in it, was hysterical!! The show can go on while they search for Charlie in the deep blue ocean.
The show does seem to reflect Charlie's actual life. He looked like absolute hell in the latest episode. Thin, very awkward movements, and pale even with the makeup. I enjoyed the show less because of this. Its pretty hard to watch someone destroy themselves. J.
I'm NOT a fan, and I AM worried.....worried that he's never going to do any jail time for his crimes! Worried that he's never going to be forced to take responsibility for his actions!
I AGAIN WILL SAY, THEY NEED TO WRITE CHARLIE INTO REHAB AND NOT LET HIM BACK ONTO THE SHOW UNTILL HE GETS REAL HELP. IF NOT HE IS GOING TO END UP DYING OF A OVERDOSE!!HE LOOKS OLDER THAN THE OTHER ACTORS ON THE SHOW TO INCLUDE THE HOUSEKEEPER!!HALF HIS TEETH ARE GONE.THE REST OF THE ACTORS ARE FUNNIER AT TIMES THAN WHAT HE IS. IF THE SHOWS PRODUCER'S REALLY WHAT TO KEEP THIS SHOW ON THAN THEY NEED TO WRITE HIM OFF IN HOPES THAT IT WILL GIVE HIM A AWAKE UP CALL& GET HISSELF HELP!!WHAT ARE THEY GOING TO DO WIHT THE SHOW WHEN HE DIE"S????????????
I can only speak for this household. We will not watch it again. I did like the , but like others have said it really is about the same thing, over and over. And at this point, I don't feel like I want to reward Charlie. The only way he will think it is really bad is when he feels it in the pocket.
All this claptrap and drivel about Charlie Sheen and his drug and drink problems, among other celebrities with their own issues, force me to a conclusion: "Who the hell cares?" This is one of the reasons America is so far behind other countries in basic things like math, science, and reading. Why not turn off the stupid TVs and read a book? Isn't voyeurism getting a little old for you folks by now?
I love Charlie Sheen and Two and a half men. I was saddened to see him on the last episode, he was think and worn looking. He is not looking healthy at all. I hope people who REALLY care about his well being intervine and get him the help he so needs. I would hate to see him end up like to many other super star's Dead too early......
mmmmmmmmm yeah that's a friend who is talking to the MEFIA. He is not going to get help of he doesn't want it. He's talking retiring according to rumors and since we all believe rumors he doesn't want to work so why would it matter? Seriously leave this guy alone PE! As long as your personal life doesn't affect his professional why does it matter? Trying to punish him is not going to get him sober. He has to want to which I hope he's getting a reality check on by his family.
I have ofen wondered why it airs during family time when children are up and can watch it. Seldom is there a joke that is not about sex, gays(the good guy is a heterosexual with the culture and personality of someone gay, or evil mothers, again a frequent gay writers hang up/issue. My husband watches it. I think its sickening and can't stand the characters on it. They are so very stereotyeped and a twisted view and take on society. But, then, He is all that, twised, in real life. Why would his audience not laught at his life as they do at the show while watching. Yes, my husband laughs while shaking his head. I just turn my head in disgust and lament that we eather have programs with writers who write this trash, or reality tv shows to replace writers. Where are the good shows?
Who cares,.... What Charlie Sheen does off the set isn't my business. It isn't anyone elses either. So shut the hell up, world. If you don't like him on TV so what ...change the fricken channel...if you just don't like what he does period....shut up anyhow. Don't invite him to your house for dinner. Quit sending him money, don't drink with him, and certainly if he wants to pay the Tab at the bar....make him put his money back in his pocket. If he is tryiong to date your daughter. please stop him....hahahaha... Like he would...he's an actor for his job, let him...so if you don't know someone shut up.
What a silly mommy! Katie Holmes takes Suri into the water in her clothes as the two spend the afternoon at the beach in Miami. More of Today's Hottest Photos
