Julia Roberts to Play Evil Queen in 'Snow White' Film

Julia Roberts is still the fairest of them all. The actress, who is already Hollywood royalty, is confirmed to play the Evil Queen in the upcoming film 'The Brothers Grimm: Snow White,' according to Entertainment Weekly.

The Relativity Media-backed fairy tale is reported to start shooting in April, with producer Brett Ratner attached to the project as well.

"Julia was our first and only choice to play the Queen," said producer and Relativity CEO Ryan Kavanaugh about the casting decision. Roberts was rumored to be up for the role earlier this month.

"She is an icon," Kavanaugh continued. "We know that she will make this role her own in a way that no one else could."

'The Brothers Grimm: Snow White' isn't the only Snow White reboot starting production this year, so don't get confused by the different casting reports.

Universal is behind 'Snow White and the Huntsman,' with 'Twilight' star Kristen Stewart rumored to be attached to the lead role, Viggo Mortensen as the reported huntsman and Charlize Theron as that film's Evil Queen.

Oooh! A remake on Snow White with Julia Roberts. Doesn't that sound like something you can't wait to see? NOT!

An actress knows she's getting old in Hollywood when she starts playing witches and evil dames. Julia was too old to play Liz in Eat,Pray,Love. The role should have gone to Anne Hathaway or Reese. Maybe Drew Barrymore. But Ms. Roberts is a power player and just had to do it. She needs to retire and let younger actresses get the roles. Of course, this new one fits her. I'll bet Danny Moder would agree. H has his head so far up her monied azz, poor boy. Maybe after this role she'll let it go hopefully. I am so sick of her toothy fug face.

Such vitriol! Retire? She's 44 years old! Let younger actresses get roles? There's not a shortage of roles for younger actresses! Buffy, I know it's hard for a kid to do sometimes, but try to get some perspective on things. It's not ALL about your generation.

uh, like mmm'er's and thensome for the film was from the BOOK and based on a TRUE LIFE EXPERIENCE of , ahem, an "older"(mature, not ancient) woman and doubt the younger girls mentioned have the proper gravitas to have pulled the role off (they really have not yet reached that acting point in their careers ,etc,etc,etc .....) Amazing when folks figure that the epitome to chase after is but a youthful...models of 13/14 get sported as HOW one should look and various youths who photo well are slected cuz easier on the eyes ...supposedly !!

Oh, Buffy: I so wish I could see you in a few more years, and tell you then to move along or move aside for someone younger. You obviously and really have no clue, do you? A 20 year old "wicked queen"......not too believable. Stars have to change roles with their changing years. They can't all quit acting because they get older.

Julie is the EVIL snow Queen. Shes no actress, she plays her dirty self. ERIC ROBERTS is the actor in that family, Emma too. Julia got lucky, She has been the beard for clooney et al. so they cover for her and get her the roles. She not pretty, well pretty ugly mouth. GO ERIC...........

Did they not make a movie relevant to Snow White? Oh yeah, It was called Enchantment. Evil witch played by Susan Sarandon and she did a great job. They're trying to get that chick from Twilight to play Snow White. Ugh! Movies suck now, all my favorite childhood books are trash now. Oh I forgot they also made Sydney White with Amanda Bynes as Snow White.

Sigourney Weaver played the Evil stepmother in Snow White:A tale of Terror, she blew me away as any one can. This story has been played out too many times. Grimm Brothers have more horrible stories to work with, why keep going to the little girl is too perfect, let's kill her stories. I'm looking forward to the new version of Red Riding Hood,even though there's an English version with David Warner. Still, their original stories were scary and it's about time they started making them the way they were originally written. Truly Frightening.

One would think that Julia Robers would be be cast in the remake of "Gator" with all those big teeth she has.

I think Julia would make a great evil queen. Sigourney was awesome in the last remake they did of Snow White - considering all of the Grimm tales were meant to be horror or gruesome so children would learn and listen to their parents. Unfortunately Grimm Tales continued to be aggressively edited as time wore on (and not just Grimm either if you recall Anderson's original tale) so now everything has a "happy" ending.

I'll tell you though - I'm looking forward to Red Riding Hood (as I'm tired of all the damn vampires) and I'll look forward to another Grimm remake if they find a way to work Zombies into it somehow because zombies never get old unless it's one of the Resident Evil Movies.
