Kim Kardashian Channels Cleopatra in Harper's Bazaar

Kim Kardashian is paying tribute to one of her idols, Elizabeth Taylor, in the March issue of Harper's Bazaar. Dripping with gold and sporting face framing bangs, Kardashian takes a page straight from Taylor's iconic 1963 portrayal of Cleopatra.

When the 'Kourtney & Kim Take New York' star sat down to interview Taylor, there were few questions that went unanswered.

"You are my idol. But I'm six husbands and some big jewels behind. What should I do?" Kardashian asked Taylor.

ever planned to acquire a lot of jewels or a lot of husbands. For me, life happened, just as it does for anyone else. I have been supremely lucky in my life in that I have known great love, and of course I am the temporary custodian of some incredible and beautiful things. But I have never felt more alive than when I watched my children delight in something, never more alive than when I have watched a great artist perform, and never richer than when I have scored a big check to fight AIDS," Taylor answered.

Kardashian continued, "You have starred in movies with some of the dreamiest men of all time: Rock Hudson, Montgomery Clift, Marlon Brando, James Dean, Paul Newman, Michael Caine, and Warren Beatty. Who else would you have loved to work with?"

"I love Johnny Depp, and I love Colin Farrell -- both brilliant, nuanced actors with great range," Taylor said.

Apparently life to Kardashian is many love affairs and loads of jewelry. Miss Taylor's life has been far from perfect. Her many marriages, her many serious illnesses. I always wondered how the children coped with one father after another. But the one major difference between Kardashian and Taylor is the fact that Taylor made many great movies. A wonderful actress, who yes, worked with many talented actors. Apparently Kardashian choses not to see that many of those men had very troubled lives and had to deal with things in the 50's that seem quite insignificant today. I have enjoyed much of Taylors work over the years. But she is certainly no one to emulate. I applaude her for taking a stand on the AIDS issue when she did. That took tremendous courage. But the failure of all her marriages must weigh heavily upon her. I cannot fathom 8 marriages and not one working out. Kardashian needs a major wake up call. Miss Taylor has had a long acting career, along with her issues of infidelity, divorces, alcoholism, drug dependency. That Miss Taylor has survived much in her life time tells me one thing. She is one tough lady. She certainly didn't need a "reality" show or nude posing to suceed. Kim, save your money. You are going to need it. And one more thing, men, that is decent men want a woman they can respect in the long run. Think about that next time you decide to go nude...even if it is for Vogue. You are famous for your nudity my dear. Anyone can take their clothes off. You say you want marriage and children...think about it. You will have hard questions to answer if and when that ever happens.
