Charlie Sheen Finalizes Divorce, Offers to Pay 'Two and a Half Men' Crew
Charlie Sheen was finally granted a divorce from his long-estranged wife
Brooke Mueller on Tuesday in court, just in time for Valentine's Day. But hold the phone, ladies, the 45-year-old actor won't officially be single until May 2, six months after the first petition was filed.
The 'Two and a Half Men' star has agreed to pay a portion of the crew's salaries for the time they're out of work. According to
Entertainment Weekly, good old Uncle Charlie will pony up one-third of the bill for the missed wages, assuming Warner Bros. and CBS pay the rest.
The 300 freelance crew members on the show were understandably upset about missing out on their paychecks for the month of February.
EW has learned that keeping 300 workers on the payroll isn't cheap, and the costs are anywhere from $300,000 to $400,000 per episode to pay the crew who help produce the show each week, such as the camera operators, grips, set decorators, electricians, painters, costumers and craft service people. They've missed three episodes so far, so Charlie's one-third of the freelancers' salaries would be approximately $1.2 million in total. That number, coincidentally, is also what he's paid
per episode.
On behalf of freelancers everywhere, let's hope Charlie, CBS or Warner Bros. coughs up the full amount. As one worker
said earlier, "A lot of us do not get paid, if we don't work. So if he's off getting rehab or porn-o-ing or whatever, we're screwed."

So his 1 week pay is the same as the pay for 1 month of 300 of the crew

No sh*t - that's what I thought. Aren't things just a bit skewed in todays society - fcuk!
It's a nice gesture, however Charlie Sheen is still trying to 'charm' himself into everyone's good graces while remaining in denial about his addictions and the help he truly needs. He has everything going for him except the desire to get clean...what a shame.

He's agreed to pay a portion says that it wasn't "Good Time Charlies" idea. He could give a rip. And it's only a 1/3 of the 1.2 million. The article isn't entirely factual.
Who cares what he does with his personal life...the show is GREAT and FUNNY...lets get him clean and back on the air.

They should all be under contract and get paid despite Sheen.

Now I absolutely agree with you on that. They should be paid regardless, because its their choice to make a drunken pervert the star of the show and continue to carry him no matter what he does. They should have known that after his past history it was going to be repeated. They need to get a new contract from the show to insure that when Charlie OD'S they can still get all the money their contract promised.

His heart is in the right place despite addiction having control of his body. People are upset if he gets help and production is post poned, people are upset if he doesn't get help and the show goes on. Give the guy a break.
He a TOTAL-NO-TALENT- Looser!

Sheen could not be replaced and still maintain the quality of that show. Capable as I'm certain the entire crew are, the show doesn't depend on them as individuals. Plenty of lighting, sound and construction workers around. That's why he has a contract and they don't.

It's definitely a step in the right direction if he is going to pay the crew, although his share should be 100%.

The title of this article should be "Cheapskate Actor Offers A Bribe" What a Jerk! 1/3- REALLY! He's such a dirtbag.

Dirtbag is right. One-third of cast and crews' pay is nothing. He has money to burn. What a selfish prick.
He should pay all the salaries. He is a high risk offender and needs to have a wake up call. His continued denials of a problem and conflicting statements need delt with. Time for tough love. He is on a fast track to join the "Hollwood Dead to Soon" club.

I hope they were smart enough to grant only supervised visits with his kids.
