James Blunt may be famous for his heartfelt ode to a past love, but according to his latest cover song, he wishes they all could be California girls.The British singer has taken on Katy Perry's summer anthem 'California Gurls,' performing a pared down version of the pop hit on acoustic guitar with his band. The 'You're Beautiful' singer stays true to Perry's hit, leaving Mrs. Russell Brand's lyrics as-is, but, much to everyone's dismay, forgoing the whipped cream-shooting chest rockets.
Blunt's latest studio album, 'Some Kind of Trouble,' hit stores in mid-January. The singer, who is currently performing in Europe, is bringing his tour, with opening act Christina Perri, back to the U.S. on April 20.

Not a big James Blunt fan, he's okay, but this shows he's got a great sense of humor! And with different lyrics, this would be a lovely song!

The Bruno Mars acoustic version is even better... it's all about the vocals... The first time i ever heard "Your Beautiful" i thought of christopher cross. yes, thats right, where is he now. Blunt will endure the rest of his career covering others songs. ONE HIT WONDER. very lucky, Your beautiful sucked big time.

In my opinion, James Blunt is lowering himself by singing this song with its stupid juvenile lyrics. If you think he is a one hit wonder, look back at past covers of Time magazine and several other big magazines so you can see his picture on the covers. The guy has a ton of self-written hits and is loaded with talent. Listen to Back to Bedlam and All the Lost Souls and hear the lyrics. He can sing for over two hours without covering anyone's songs but his own. I could go on, but why waste time.

I'm not a Blunt fan but I at least know that everyone that is bashing him on here doesn't have the talent level to do what he can do. If you can do better, step up to the plate and lets here you! Otherwise, shut your stupid trap.

James Blunt is a very talented singer/songwriter. I love everything he's put out there. He has a unique quality about him. I really enjoyed his version of this song. I could listen to his voice all day long!!

I absolutely love James Blunt's music! He sings for people who appreciate his voice, as well as his music. It doesn't matter what he sings! He knows how to sing "love songs". I have a CD & listen to him sing when I am in my car.
