Report: Pete Wentz Does Not Want Divorce

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz may be gearing up for a return to her maiden name, having filed for divorce from Pete Wentz yesterday, but the ex-Fall Out Boy rocker is reportedly unhappy about going forward with the split.

Simpson, who married Wentz in 2008 at her parents' California home, began divorce proceedings yesterday at LA County Superior Court. The singer-actress cited "irreconcilable differences" as her reason for wanting out of the marriage and is seeking spousal support from Wentz, with whom she reportedly had no prenup.

According to a TMZ source, Simpson was fed up with her husband's "erratic" behavior and, despite his protests, decided to end things.

The couple announced their news via a spokesperson yesterday, telling fans, "We remain friends and deeply committed and loving parents to our son Bronx, whose happiness and well-being remains our No. 1 priority. We ask that everyone honor our privacy as we navigate this next phase of our lives."

As recently as this past weekend, Wentz was all smiles at pre-Super Bowl events in Dallas, where he was snapped still wearing his wedding ring.

The rocker reportedly made no mention of hardship on the home front at the festivities and indicated that things were going well in an interview with PopEater just last month.

"The great thing right now is that my family is very mobile and are able to tour with me," he said in February. "And I think that's the only thing that would've been a hurdle. But the fact they're kind of able to go, I want to be back out there."

Simpson-Wentz, who has petitioned to have her last name legally changed back to Simpson, is seeking physical custody of the couple's 2-year-old son, Bronx.

I agree with the person that said, Daddy Joe is needing to be in control of one or the other or both at all times. Sad the little boy is caught in the middle of this. Erratic behavior is subjective. It seems she is probably just tired of him and wants him gone. He could probably do nothing that was right for her anymore and she has her own idea and plans that simply don't include him. Hopefully, in time both will be happier with their lives and find suitable mates to go the long haul.

No. "Erratic Behavior," is a term that is designed for the courtroom. Words mean something folks. He must stop sleeping with men, and she should have seen the warning signs. Outside of the child, I really feel for the friends who attended their wedding and brought presents. Predictable?

They are two kids, who thought they knew everything already (what tweenie doesn't, past and present). But really don't have a clue as to what they want. Ashley, still doesn't, but she has realized the one thing she DOESN'T want...that's Wentz. lol I'm more concerned for their child. Kids being raised by kids. Doesn't always work out very well. It's a good thing finances aren't an issue right now with them. So at least their son will be taken care of physically.

I can't believe how quickly celebrities get married, then get divorced - sometimes over the most silliest matters. Ok, so Pete Wentz has erratic behavior. Whatever happened to those vows that
Ashlee and Pete took, before God, friends and family, to love and
honor - through good AND bad times, sickness and health, etc. Why
bother even taking vows when these celebs can't handle the smallest argument or problem? They just run to the courthouse to file for divorce. Like Scarlett-Jo and Ryan Reynolds. Married two
years, yet they divorced? Couldn't they have tried to make it
work? Marriage is hard work and if you're not up to the challenge
of working on a marriage, don't get married in the first place!!
