JWoww 'Would Never Say No' to Proposal From Roger
Jenni "JWoww" Farley may be the short-fused tough gal on 'Jersey Shore,' but she's also the only castmate who seems able to carry on lasting relationships. In 'The Rules According to JWoww,' the Long Islander dispenses dating and grooming advice for all you wannabe guidettes out there. And in a chat with
PopEater, she credits her new love Roger Matthews for inspiring her to write it. She calls him "the guy I'm most compatible with" and admits she would "never say no" if he pops the question on Valentine's Day.
Farley also talks up future plans (roomies with Snooki?), the upcoming season of 'Shore' in Italy ("It won't hit me until I'm on the plane") and what was on that hard drive that her ex-boyfriend took from her.
How did this book come about?
A lot of my fans were writing to me for advice because they saw my relationship on the show, and they could relate to it and basically the breakup and finding new love. It's really reality checking myself, what I did wrong in the past to where I am now.
So, how is Roger?
I honestly say he played a big part in this book. He was somebody who even when I was 21, 22, my ideal guy. I was going through a bad breakup so I didn't want to be in a relationship, but I actually found the guy I'm most compatible with. He was a friend first before anything and that just made it all the better. I liked him as a friend for a very long time prior. He was the kind of guy I always wanted. He was independent, what he liked in sports, being at the gym, being social.
Do you think you two will get married?
We've only been dating nearly seven months. He would be somebody I would look toward marrying, but it really hasn't come up. He's very career oriented and so am I. I never pictured myself marrying anyone. He's older, and he's never had a long term girlfriend. He's never pictured himself marrying anyone, but we both said to each other if it was to be somebody it would be to each other.
So if he proposes on Valentine's Day you're not going to say no.
No, I would never say no. Oh you just made me nervous!
One of the craziest moments of the current 'Shore' season is when your ex took your hard drive.
I did get it back a few months later. Right now it's unrepairable. Right before I left [for] 'Jersey Shore 3,' my Mac was acting a little funny, so I backed up my hard drive. It had my whole life on it. All my photos, my school work of seven years, and then I took everything off my Mac. So basically my life before 'Jersey Shore,' everything was on it.
Back to the book. What is your main rule?
My number one rule is never settle. I feel like the moment you settle, you're setting yourself up for disaster. You're really making it known that that is what you want, and that's what you get. Really make yourself ready if you're not ready for a relationship, if you're not secure in your own life, how can you be with somebody else and give them what they need?
What's your definition of a man-whore?
Basically what you want to avoid at a club and quote, unquote any situation. You really want to avoid any guy who is not looking to be serious. This book is light hearted and fun, but it's also to help a girl find a guy. You want to avoid guys who want to date or looking at you for all the wrong reasons.
You say for guys, monogamy equals monotony. How do you mix it up?
It really comes down to timing. If you're in a girl who's in her early 20's and you're trying to find a guy around the same age, although now that I'm saying that, guys at any age are afraid of being tied down and they think that's it for them, so you really got to make it fun and fun for yourself. No one wants to be in a boring relationship and where either party can't have fun with their friends, so give them that freedom. Guys that know their girlfriends don't mind them going out with their friends and having guy time, that's like a big rule, I feel like in dating. I feel like guys who are in a relationship and feel like they can't go out with their friends anymore, that's setting yourself up for disaster.
Another rule is don't smush too soon.
Being in a house with four guys that take girls home and stuff. These are girls they will not take home to their mother, and if you are really interested in one of my roommates or interested in any guy in particular, a big red flag for a guy is if you're easy to get with. Where's the chase, and are you going to be girlfriend material?
What are your plans for after the show?
I don't know. I want to say a thousand things, but you really never know. I would probably like to move in with Nicole, possibly get our own show that we did a pilot for. We won't know if it will be picked up until the summer.
Is there any rivalry with Snooki?
No, she's my best friend. I was texting her earlier because I was nervous to go on the 'Today' show and was telling me "Good luck" and "Congratulations" and "You deserve it."
And you're going to Italy!
It's so surreal. It won't hit me until I'm on the plane. I've never been to Europe at all. I'm beyond excited.
You're not Italian at all.
I think that was a common misconception from the beginning because I know guidos who are black and Mexican. It's a lifestyle not an ethnicity. We like to break that stigma. We like to show you can be any culture and...
Still tan every day.
Exactly! And fist pump.
What are three requirements for being a guidette?
Attitude is a big one. The club scene and a whole lot of bronzer.

From the looks of her, she's never said "no" to anyone.

JWOW is the only one on the show who barely hooked up with anyone.
She made out with Pauly, her boyfriend-Tom, and her new boyfriend, Roger. That's it.
from the tone of your post you never had a thought
"dispenses dating and grooming advice for all you wannabe guidettes out there."
Last time i checked, my fellow "guidettes" did not have the last name of Farley....

Why do they keep putting out books by these losers? Situation and Snooky books bombed (Situation didn't even sell 5,000 copies!) and they're supposed to be the "breakout stars." Besides, people that watch Jersey Shore don't read books!

Polar, I agree 100%, but may I please correct a minor discrepancy in your post?
People that watch Jersey Shore CAN'T read books.
Actually I watch jersey shore and I do and can read, so stop sterotyping people.
Umm...Jeremy...I believe that's "stereo typing"
duh
Jeremy, you're the exception to the rule.
Snooki's book bombed? She's a NY Times bestseller! Obviously they're making money! Looks like someone is bitter...
I read plenty of books, in fact I'm working on my Master's in Nursing and I love Jersey Shore! You're just a loser because you have nothing better to do than post something negative!
To Betty: it is frightening that someone I am supposed to trust with my health, and possibly my life itself, is watching Jersey Shore crap instead of studying. You are proof that America is getting dumber.
What makes these people worthy of publishing a book? I mean they are in their early 20's, when they reach 40 have them all read their own books.
This woman is hardly anyone I'd be seeking advice from. She's the most "stable" on the show with a new BF of 7 months? Good luck with that one, the sound you hear is that guy running out the door!
