The 53rd Grammy Awards kicked off with a rousing tribute to soul legend Aretha Franklin with Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson, Martina McBride, Florence Welch and Yolanda Adams tackling Franklin's classics.
The ladies kicked things off with a group performance of '(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman' before launching into solos of 'Ain't No Way,' 'Until You Come Back to Me,' 'Think,' 'Respect' and 'Spirit in the Dark.' The divas closed with 'Sisters Are Doin' It for Themselves.'
A week after botching the national anthem at the Super Bowl, Aguilera brought her A-game and brought the house down with her take on 'Ain't No Way.'
It wasn't a perfect performance though. The singer appeared to take a minor spill near the end of the 'Sisters' performance.

The 'Dirrty' diva wasn't the only big voice on stage. Hudson wowed with her take on 'Respect,' and Welch's wailing on 'Think' earned her some spontaneous mid-performance applause.
Aguilera botched the lyrics to 'The Star-Spangled Banner' before the kickoff of Super Bowl XLV and received widespread criticism for the blunder. The diva later apologized, saying, "I can only hope that everyone could feel my love for this country and that the true spirit of its anthem still came through."
All appears to have been forgiven. Aguilera, Hudson, McBride, Welch and Adams earned a standing ovation from the Grammy audience.

Sadly, none of the performers came close to the Queen of Soul. No one belts it out like Aretha. You feel her words and the magnitude of her voice. What a performer!
Show some love for Ms. Welch! She provided a different and extremely well done take on "Think" Christina honestly could've done better if she didn't break out into hooks and riffs on every word of the song. Jennifer Hudson was great, as well as Martina and Yolanda, But my greatest love goes to Florence WElch, who has showed us through her VMA and grammy performances that her voice is no fake.
I dont know but any tribute to Aretha is a tall order....even for superstars. Anyway i give the checkered flag to Yolanda.....who captured aretha's roots in gospel...and the rest did amazing.....got to give credit to a country singer and new rock singer for even tryin.....old school soul....especially Aretha! But yolanda rules...and i heard through the grapevine Aretha particularly liked her too!
No Snookilera did not redeem herself trying to upstage everyone on that stage taking the better parts and making some of those girls hold back on their performance just because they were trying to help her out because she messed up the Anthem so the producers wanted her to sing her heart out but oversinging and wailing that she did ruined the tribute.Hatchet face needs a new look that Marilyn Monroe look is getting old and as as for almost falling her arrogant manner upset lady Karma who tried to push her off that stage because she's not done with her yet.Jennifer Hudson sings with power and beauty and she held it back.I didn't like the part were they were all yelling towards the end of the song they were trying to get away from all the screeching Christina was doing.

The fact that there are people who still likes Ms. Aguilera makes the haters a waste of time
