During her acceptance speech for Best Pop Vocal Album, an emotional Lady Gaga thanked Whitney Houston, saying she imagined the legend singing her latest smash, 'Born This Way,' which gave her the confidence to write the track."I wanted to thank Whitney because when I wrote 'Born this Way,' I imagined she was singing it -- because I wasn't secure enough in myself to imagine I was a superstar," Gaga told the crowd at the Staples Center. "So, Whitney, I imagined you were singing 'Born This Way' when I wrote it."
On Twitter, users seemed suspicious of Gaga's nod to Houston, with many commenting that she may have been trying to deflect some of the criticism she's received over the song's apparent similarities to Madonna's 1989 smash 'Express Yourself.'

Don't carry weight of Gaga's boobs on your shoulders. Throws your grammar off. Her shoulders tells us she gets the point. LOL.
Not hating on Gaga. Just tired of all the gimmicks. Just sing please.

I saw Lady double-Ga interviewed on Dateline. I felt so sorry for her. She seemed so intent on "being herslef" with no self to be. Pity those poor stupid children who look to her for identity.

I happen to be in my mid-70's and certainly am not thoroughly tuned into today's pop culture. However, I find Lady Gaga very entertaining and cannot understand the campaign of hate that follows her. Young people call us old-timer narrow minded; but as an older person, I am astonished at how very narrow-minded and intolerant so many young people are today--how critical they are of entertainers whose styles don't fit their particular tastes. Nobody forces anybody to watch or listen to Lady Gaga or any other entertainer. Technology, however advanced, still offers on/off switches.

Lady Gaga's costume gimmick is so stupid. When you have a team of people that can (and will) do anything you ask for....then is it really creative at all to wear these stupid outfits? I want to be a chicken, I want to look like a space ship, I want to look like an eight ball....a poodle....a muffin; BIG DEAL. For her it's like us saying "I'll wear jeans, and jeans, and jeans....jeans, and jeans.

She is somewhat like Madonna's younger sister, which is not a terrible thing..

Just to point out that GaGa uses an offensive term in her new song " Oriental " is considered not vulgar but offensive .The term is not in used to refer to people anymore . She uses another offensive term but I will let you figure it out .

The first thing I said when seeing her new song at the Grammys was, "That is Madonna's "Respect Yourself"; from the music, to certain lyrics; down to the dance moves! Lady G is great but............. How obvious? Holy Cow, what was she thinking?

kahuna717...its "Express Yourself" not Respect Yourself. And the music sounds similar but the meaning and words are totally different! They have totally different meanings. Why cant anyone understand or see that? There are artist (Katy Perry) who's songs ALL sound the same. At least hers actually have meaning behind them...seriously people. Dont listen if you dont like it, whats so hard about that?
I think Lady Gaga meant to say thank you to Madonna for giving her the music for her new song...Born this Way!!

She thanked the wrong person she should have thanked Madonna because she basically did a cover of her song, the flash in the pan obviously ran out of material and is there something wrong with her eyes, that is scary.

Has anyone noticed that "I was born this way" sounds amazingly similar in music and lyrics to "Vogue" by Madonna.....original much????

God, look at her in that picture with Will smiths little girl, her eyes look crazy as a loon!

I wonder what Whitney thought of that. It was kinda touching to me. I did notice right away that she was whipping her hair back and forth like little Ms. Willow. Oh yeah and when the camera showed Esperanza Spalding sitting in the audience I actually thought she was Willow Smith at first.
