Darren Criss' character Blaine was introduced on 'Glee' this season as a charming, confident, openly gay teenager and possible love interest for the beloved Kurt, played by Chris Colfer. Now an emerging gay icon and all-around media darling, Criss is the sexy cover boy of this month's Out magazine. Inside the issue, 'Glee' creator Ryan Murphy drops a bombshell about Blaine and predicts a bumpy ride for the fan-favorite potential couple."Blaine will openly question whether bisexuality is real. I think that some people will love that discussion and some will not love it," Murphy told the magazine, going on to explain that if Kurt and Blaine do get together, he wants to treat it like he treats all of the other relationships on the show.
While his character's sexuality might generate intrigue and drama, Criss told Out that he felt he needed to be clear about his own and "come out" as straight to best play the part of Blaine. "I think it's more empowering to everybody, including myself, if I'm articulate about identifying myself as a straight male playing a gay character. Ultimately, that's more powerful for both communities."
