Esperanza Spalding Learns What Happens When Justin Bieber Fans Attack

Those silly Grammys should have known better than to give their Best New Artist award to anyone other than Justin Bieber if they didn't want a tween revolt on their hands. Moments after Bieber lost the prize to Esperanza Spalding, his tech-savvy army of fans began an assault on social media and the entire Internet.
Spalding, an emerging jazz artist with a less fervent following than Biebs, saw her Wikipedia page attacked by the little hackers. At points, her middle name on the page was changed to both "Justin" and "Quesadilla." Someone also wrote: "Justin Bieber deserved it go die in a hole. Who the heck are you anyway?"
Beliebers, as Justin's fans are called, went through various phases of revolt following his loss. First, they were very, very angry and acted out on Twitter and Facebook by calling Spalding a variety of expletives, some of which were upsettingly racist.
Following the anger, the Beliebers tried to rationalize what had happened to them and their hero. Bieber fans seemed vaguely confused about how one goes about winning a Grammy. Isn't it based on how popular you are on Twitter? They seemed lost that someone like Spalding, who has much fewer followers on the networking site, could have been given the award.
"So the Esperanza Spalding has only 8 thousand followers on twitter and how many does justin bieber has?" one fan tweeted and many agreed.
During this time, a small sleeper cell of fans plotted the sneak attack on Spalding's Wikipedia entry. By this morning, most of Spalding's page had been restored with its pre-win information.
Bieber himself was gracious about the loss. It is actually win-win for him, since martyrdom typically translates into cash. This will no doubt inspire his army of sometimes wicked fans to try to support the Biebs in other ways. His biopic 'Never Say Never' topped $30 million at the weekend box office. His devoted fans now have more of a reason than ever to visit theaters, if only to say, "Esperanza Spalding doesn't have a 3-D movie."

Bieber is young and has a lot to learn. He isn't the greatest singer. The only reason he is popular is because the young girls like him.

What all the kiddies who like justin Beiber need to realize is that the grammy's Are judges and voted on by actual people in the industry. Beiber is not admired by adults as much as teeny boopers. Wait till the Nickelodion awards, I'm sure he'll win there ! Not only was Justin shocked when he lost, I bet he cried also ...

I heard somewhere that he was seen crying after the show, but who knows. Nice response by the way. :)
Tweens have been fed manufactured heart throbs for years by the music industry. The media feeds on it,sad but it is to be expected. Even more sad many of them never learn to appreciate real music in their lifetime.

See? This is why I loathe Justin Bieber so much, he has 12 yo brats for fans, and absolutely no talent whatsoever! That girl has more talent in one HALF of an electron on her pinky, than that Beaver boy! I say good for her. Anyone that disagrees can grow up and for the love of all that is musical, listen to REAL artists!

My son calls him Justin Gerber, from the baby food.
I think the media has over exposed him.

She is WAY more talented than Justin -Esperanza and Corinne Bailey Rae; Two of the most talented women musicians

It's about time someone with talent won!!!

First of it's Bieber. and he should have won.
he has over 7,289,957 more twitter followers than she does, i know this has nothing to do with it but new artists are supposed to be known in the world of music and barely anyone has even heard of this Esperanza Spalding. Second her top song is from 2006. how did she even constitute as a new artist is my question. Justin is actually new and young with far less time in the field of music and therefore should have won. the judges at the grammys need to think over their votes a little more carefully next time.

The grammy's are about true artist's, not who has the most follower's on twitter. I don't think I would have found Justin's loss as gratifying if it wasn't for his fans. They have made me absolutely want him to fail. There have always been teen idols, but not with such a bunch of vulture's waiting to pounce on anyone who doesn't agree with them. For now he's just a cute kid with some minor, and I do mean minor talent. Maybe in about 5 years if he hones his craft, and his voice developes more, he should win a grammy. Definately not now!
Justin Bieber should not be nominated in any singing category... but I think the grammies should add a new category for the most marketed non-talented performer award and Justin Bieber should walk away with that one...
Espranza Spalding is one of the best performers I have heard in a long long long time!!!

Who??? Cee Lo Green's performing a duet of his hit song “Forget You” with Gwyneth Paltrow was the best.

Before the other night, not very many people ever heard of her. After looking her up, I'm still not convinced by her; however, Jazz really isn't my "cup of tea" so to speak.

Its about time real talent is winning out to all these flavors of the week. Its time that REAL music is getting its due again. i have alwaysapplaided the grammys for recognizing real music instead of awarding whats "hot" for the moment. Plus he lip synched his performance. I love to hear real singers whether they are hoarse coarse out of breath giving it to us LIVE! remember when rela artists can sing? (chaka,Aretha,Luther, patti etc?)
