Lady Gaga Admits to Smoking Pot While Writing

In an honest sit-down interview airing before the Grammys, Lady Gaga admitted to smoking pot while writing songs, according to RadarOnline.

"I still smoke a lot of pot when I write music," the outrageous performer told Anderson Cooper during her '60 Minutes' interview, where she appeared in a flesh-color leotard because she "didn't feel like wearing clothes."

"So I'm not gonna, like, sugar coat it for '60 Minutes' that I'm some, like, sober human being, 'cause I'm not," she continued, but was quick to add, "I don't want to encourage kids to do drugs."

She claims she no longer uses cocaine but was quite honest about her marijuana use, saying her honesty is for her fans.

"When you asked me about the sociology of fame and what artists do wrong -- what artists do wrong is they lie. And I don't lie. I'm not a liar," she said. "I built good will with my fans. They know who I am. And I'm just like them in so many ways."

Gaga's '60 Minutes' interview aired right before her much-anticipated performance at the Grammys. She shocked everyone by showing up on the red carpet "incubating" in an egg-shaped capsule and was "born" on stage while performing her latest single, 'Born This Way.'

Gaga went on to win the Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album for 'The Fame Monster.'

Freak show ? Gaga has more talent in her pinky than you will ever have ! Easy to sit on the sidelines of life and JUDGE ....isn't it ? You should get busy creating your own life and not worry about hers! You better hurry........the clock of life is ticking !

How many people Charlie do YOU know that smoke pot???? Maybe Charlie YOUR friends and family, prefer to drink and then get behind the wheel of a car. I think you are just a sad, sad person. How can you point a finger then call names to someone that is so successful? Guess people in the so called corporate world don't do drugs HUH Charlie? To look and act like lady gag gag you have to be on drugs! She gives "weed" a bad rap with a face like that! She is a poster child in the making, why you shouldn't use drugs!

No surprise to me, she looks and acts like she is on them all the time. What a way to get attention. So sad, if she had real talent she would not have to do these stupid things that she does . True talent would naturally draw good attention and publicity.

No one would have guessed that she uses, by her actions , it appears it is her life style and uses all the time. If she had true talent she would not have to go to these extremes to get attention.

What's the big deal about smoking some weed? Better than lying like so many other artists who pretend to be all innocent, when we know they're not. Or until they get busted and start back-peddling.

There are many funny statements in this article. My favorite is she "writes" her songs/music. Sure sure and the sky is green too. I hope whoever manufactured this one broke the mold because we don't need another skank-o-rama like this one EVER AGAIN!

This is not news. Why doesn't AOL highlight the positive fact that she is being honest. Let's face, all the rock singers of the 60's and 70's used far worse drugs than Lady Gaga. And they produced some incredible music. Steven Tyler is now doing American Idol. Like him or hate him, he is a very successful musician.

It would be interesting to note if the writer, Kelly Fisher, is clean or is it possible she has used drugs? The press is quick to highlight a star's weaknesses and the mistakes they make. If every member of the press admitted their own failures at the end of the article they write, there would be a lot more trust in the press.

I'm not a fan of her music, but tons of artists smoke pot, I'd hardly consider it a drug in the case of people not thinking tobacco or alcohol are drugs. I'd be more interested in what musicians don't smoke pot. As far as saying she says this to get attention because she's not talented; how many talented musicians have songs all about drugs or the influences drugs have. Beatles, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Soundgarden, Eric Clapton, almost any of the most talented artists from any era have songs expressing their drug use, why would it be different in an interview? Just because it's Lady Gaga?

Nothing wrong with smoking pot but she gives pot a bad name. She freaks me out. Many artists use pot successfully.

Can you do better ? If so, DO IT ! Easy to sit back in a chair and be a Monday morning quarterback ! Much harder to put your money where your mouth is ! So next year at the Grammy's lets see you get up butt up there and do better. We will be waiting.................good luck !
