Lady Gaga Admits to Smoking Pot While Writing

In an honest sit-down interview airing before the Grammys, Lady Gaga admitted to smoking pot while writing songs, according to RadarOnline.

"I still smoke a lot of pot when I write music," the outrageous performer told Anderson Cooper during her '60 Minutes' interview, where she appeared in a flesh-color leotard because she "didn't feel like wearing clothes."

"So I'm not gonna, like, sugar coat it for '60 Minutes' that I'm some, like, sober human being, 'cause I'm not," she continued, but was quick to add, "I don't want to encourage kids to do drugs."

She claims she no longer uses cocaine but was quite honest about her marijuana use, saying her honesty is for her fans.

"When you asked me about the sociology of fame and what artists do wrong -- what artists do wrong is they lie. And I don't lie. I'm not a liar," she said. "I built good will with my fans. They know who I am. And I'm just like them in so many ways."

Gaga's '60 Minutes' interview aired right before her much-anticipated performance at the Grammys. She shocked everyone by showing up on the red carpet "incubating" in an egg-shaped capsule and was "born" on stage while performing her latest single, 'Born This Way.'

Gaga went on to win the Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album for 'The Fame Monster.'

I don't care for Lady Gaga or her music, but I admire her honesty. I think we sometimes idolize the Stars on the Red Carpet and don't realize who they are as a person. Many Stars abuse drugs whether it's illegal,legal or both. We just don't know about until they either enter rehab or worse dead. Most won't tell you if their life dended on it!

As far as her getting inspiration from doing it we saw her performance last night nothing new or inspirational about it. And her statement About she was thinking about Whitney Houston while writing the song and after doing a Madonna rip off all I can say send me some of what ever she is smoking.

So, what the police need to do is arrest her. If they don't, that encourages kids that as long as you're a huge star then you can get away with doing drugs. Arrest her!

Wow, really? I'm SO shocked! I would say most people in show business, along with most people in the justice system smoke pot regularly. And the fact that we're still putting people in jail for it is preposterous.

Like most celebrities, you put them on a pedestal and they will fall off. Lady Gaga is just another celebrity using drugs and it will haunt her future. Soon she will be taking off all of her clothes just to gain attention.

Well somebodies got to take Madonnas place now that she's deteriorated so badly. Britney was supposed to do that but kinda imploded from the stress and didn't really have the talent to begin with. So if Gaga can handle it more power to her.

Promoting drugs as a way to be an 'artist' is a really bad message. Born this way? No, using mind-altering substances isn't the way you are naturally. I don't believe Pot is harmless - I have heard enough proof from people who know what it can do first-hand, not to mention Pot being the start-out point for doing a lot of other drugs.
