It's been a tough, scandal-filled year for Billy Ray Cyrus. The singer recently opened up to GQ magazine about his relationship with daughter Miley and revealed some regrets about the show that made her famous.In a lengthy profile, Cyrus told reporter Chris Heath that he blames the Disney show 'Hannah Montana' for the current trouble in his family, which includes his divorce from wife Tish.
"I hate to say it, but yes, I do. I'd take it back in a second," he said of the show, which shot Miley to stardom.
He also claims he's been made the "fall guy" for whenever negative news surrounds his family, referencing his daughter's Vanity Fair cover shoot controversy, in which the teenage star was photographed with just a sheet covering her.

Love how he has all these regrets and wants to shelter her now that she's 18 and not under his thumb. Didn't think twice or look to the future though when she was 14 and bringing home the bacon. Pathetic.
Good gravy. Anything that was said about his daughter like any parent he took up for her, but he has to know in his heart he let her grow up way too fast. And some of it started with how she was dressing when she was in her early teens. Don't tell me as a parent he had no control over that and who she was hanging around with. And lets not forget the pole dance and the pot smoking. And last the sheet episode. Where was the contol when she started Hannah Montanna? Well, now she is of age and he has no say in what she says, does or sees.
I wouldn't blame it on 'Hannah Montana' , many other Disney starlets have not had any problems ( Ashley Tisdale, Hilary Duff etc., ) but agree, she is surrounded by a bunch of leeches, skunks & rats.
Miley has to learn how to say NO, and not give into peer pressure.

I agree. Sometimes no matter how hard you try to teach your children right from wrong, they do things the way they want to. Billy Ray may be to blame for some of the things that have gone wrong with her but it is ultimately up to her whether she wants to drink, do drugs, or be premiscuous. You eventually have to let kids make the decisions for themselves and let them make their mistakes. Sometimes the more you push your kids to do the right thing and to be a role model for others, the more you push them in the other direction. He can't control her every move. She is a himan being and capable of making her own choices, even if they are bad ones.

HaHaHa....you're going to blame the very thing that made you both rich and once again famous? Can you not blame yourself for poor parenting? Do you not realize that you must be a parent and stop trying to be their buddy instead? One cannot allow kids to have a say in all that they do. Why bother having parents if you're not going to #1. Love. #2. Teach. You are supposed to take your past mistakes and try to not allow them to make the same ones. Most parents nowadays are much too busy to raise their kids. They want the world to do it for them. I am ashamed of both of seeing that I am a proud Kentucky native. You help to give Ky a bad name.

Miley didn't make her father rich. He was rich and famous before she was even born.
I don't blame him for wanting to take it all back. And I think he's being blamed to much for everything Miley does. Sure, he and Tish could have made some different decisions earlier, but it seems that he certainly isn't condoning a lot of what Miley does these days. I pray that she will start taking his advice more.

Uh-oh. This story sounds very familiar. I guess Miley will eventually have her choice of two paths. The "Britney" which will land her in a conservatorship after losing her mind or the "Lindsay" which means her divorcing parents will forget about her until she lands in jail for the fifth time after spiriling obviously out of control. Its a shame that these people don't realize the obvious...the ticks in Hollywoold only want to suck these young stars dry...then the will abandon them.

If she's estranged from him, it must be because he's trying to give her good advice. In her own eyes, Miley is so worldly and superior that she's risen above her parents. In reality, she's downhill.

billy doesn't have to worry. miley isn't half as cute as she used to be, and her reputation is in the drink. we don't watch hannah in our house anymore and i know plenty of other parents who have banned it. so tell billy to take his million dollars to the bank and rest his poor achy breaky heart. no one ever said life was easy. poor billy
