It's been a tough, scandal-filled year for Billy Ray Cyrus. The singer recently opened up to GQ magazine about his relationship with daughter Miley and revealed some regrets about the show that made her famous.In a lengthy profile, Cyrus told reporter Chris Heath that he blames the Disney show 'Hannah Montana' for the current trouble in his family, which includes his divorce from wife Tish.
"I hate to say it, but yes, I do. I'd take it back in a second," he said of the show, which shot Miley to stardom.
He also claims he's been made the "fall guy" for whenever negative news surrounds his family, referencing his daughter's Vanity Fair cover shoot controversy, in which the teenage star was photographed with just a sheet covering her.

Oh Boy!. If these morons think they can control everything their child does at any age, they need their head examined. I dont care how good a parent you THINK you are, someone will always criticize something your child does. Miley being in the spotlight has affected her whole life and while Billy Ray was present, had SOME say about what when on with her, he wasn't with her 24/7 110% of the time. He made bad choices, but face it people, Miley is growing up, Hannah Montana or not, and she will test her boundaries and spread her wings regardless of her Daddy or "handlers".

There is no doubt that he should be held partially responsible because until she was 18 he was reponsible for her BUT since she turned 18 and can and has made her own decisions it's all on her. I have no doubt that there will be a porn tape to surface here shortly or more provacative and revealing pictures. She is in such a hurry to be grown up and to break out of that "Hannah Montana" image. She will be the next Linsay Lohan.

LaDiva, your right. Billy Ray needs to stop the blame game, take responsibility to what has led to Miley's out of control behavior, and get her some help, before she ends up the next Lilo.

I thought only children didnt know how to take responsibility for their own actions? Billy is not a very good father, or man for that matter. He has sit back for years, riding on Miley's singing. Now he blames everyone else, about his own daughters mistakes. Billy sure did love the ride though, he was more than proud to pimp out his daughter in almost every way possible.
I do recall Billy laying with Miley a few years back in a photo shoot, he looked like he thought, he was the king of the world.
Then when Miley was wearing a sheet only in another photo shoot, Billy should have said something. But he didnt, now he regrets it all? Its clear to me, that Billy would sell out his mother if it meant, he didnt have to work.
A real adult should take responsibility for their own actions.
A real father would not have allowed Miley to do half of the things Miley has already done, because Billy wanted her too.
Shame on you Billy, your meal ticket is old enough now to block you out. I know I would.

Everyone keeps saying "cash cow" etc., but from what I heard Billy has never cashed in on any of Miley's money- ever. That said, he should have thought about what kind of life he was letting her into. Now she is as rotten and troubled as all the other Hollywood progeny.
