Billy Ray Cyrus Blames 'Hannah Montana' for Family Problems
It's been a tough, scandal-filled year for
Billy Ray Cyrus. The singer recently opened up to
GQ magazine about his relationship with daughter
Miley and revealed some regrets about the show that made her famous.
In a lengthy profile, Cyrus told reporter Chris Heath that he blames the Disney show 'Hannah Montana' for the current trouble in his family, which includes his
divorce from wife Tish.
"I hate to say it, but yes, I do. I'd take it back in a second," he said of the show, which shot Miley to stardom.
He also claims he's been made the "fall guy" for whenever negative news surrounds his family, referencing his daughter's Vanity Fair cover shoot controversy, in which the teenage star was photographed with just a sheet covering her.
"Every time the train went off the track ... her people, or as they say in today's news, her handlers, every time they'd put [the blame on] me ... I took it because I'm her daddy ... OK, nail me to the cross," he told GQ.
Cyrus said he worries about the people surrounding his daughter and helping her make career decisions.
"I'm scared for her," he said. "She's got a lot of people around her that's putting her in a great deal of danger. I want to get her sheltered from the storm."
His revelations come in light of Miley's recent drug scandal. A video was released last December showing the 18-year-old
smoking salvia from a bong.

tweeted about the incident shortly after the video hit the web.
"Sorry guys. I had no idea," the concerned father wrote. "Just saw this stuff for the first time myself. I'm so sad. There is much beyond my control right now."
When Cyrus approached his daughter's handlers about the incident, he was told it was "none of his business."
The singer has reportedly been estranged from Miley since the incident, describing their communication as "good enough to know it could be a lot better."

I don't get it... what is the problem here??? Miley is no different than any other teenage girl, except for the fact that she is famous, and loaded! But most teenage girls have dabbled in drinking or drugs long before 18! Be glad it wasn't crack or extasy or whatever... and those "racy" pics??? Where are they? All I see is a teenage girl having fun with her friends. You people make such a big deal out of everything!
BTW, Billy, you did a fine job raising your girl! And if anyone is to blame it's that skank of a wife you were saddled with!

There is no way Billy could have seen what was going to happen when Miley started in the Hanna Montana series. Now that she is 18, there is little he can do. It certainly would not help anything if he decided to take a poke at her handlers. He would land in jail and Miley would continue to do what she want until she wakes up and see what is happening.

So sad but you cant blame it on Disney. Blame it on her age. All teens think they know everything and are untouchable. Dont you remember being young? If you let most kids do what they want they will destroy themselves. I know that if I was an 18 year old millionaire I could find a million other things to do besides drinking or druggging. Spending my money, counting my money, sitting on my bum being waited on hand an foot until my next job, next million came along. Dr. Drew, give this girl a call please before it goes any further.

Give me a break. Don't tell me after all these years, millions of dollars and record and movie deals that Disney ruined this girl. You yourself went through stardom, albeit short lived. So you knew the consequences of her career. If you were a real Dad you would say that you screwed up and you never should of put her in any shows, but then again you wouldn't have all those millions or any resurgence in your career, how selfish.

Why do some people feel that parenting is a part- time job and you can" retire" when the kids are 18? B**ls**t. The job is over when the coffin closes. As a parent you have every right to protect and encourage your kids to a healthy direction no matter what their age is. And as your children we need to respect it. Period! End of Sentence.

Why is this anyones "fault?" She is a legal adult now and is probably sick of doing what her Dad told her to do in the first place...or didn't tell her to do. Regardless, She had a good few years. Many people would have loved to have the go-around that kid had. She is probably sick of the forced good girl image and is rebelling now. She will hopefuly notice she is only hurting herself.

Thats a crock!! Kids make bad choices regardless of what their parents tell them or try to guide they from. Billy is a good dad and husband ! or x husband it is hollywood that is evil. All the glits and glam seem so good but its wrapped up with sex and drugs. We would have alot of great talent around if hollywood had a back bone. I 've seen it and been their first hand...Milley be strong , make good choices and you will last a long time in the wood...but fall for the bullcrap and your doom is right around the corner.
