Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson Returns to WWE

After a seven-year hiatus from body slams and bikini briefs, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has returned to the ring.

The WWE star-turned-actor made his return to wrestling on last night's 'Raw,' where he was introduced as the host of the upcoming Wrestlemania XXVII. The match, scheduled for April 3 in Atlanta, will be Johnson's first Wrestlemania since 2004.

He told the audience of his decision to come back to the sport that made him a star, "You helped me accomplish my goals, helped me accomplish my dreams because you never lost my side ... Thank you, I love you, and it is because of you that I'm back in this ring and it's because of you, and I give you my word, that I am never, ever, going away."

Johnson singled out fellow WWE star John Cena as his main target for Wrestlemania, taking cracks at wrestler The Miz and Justin Bieber along the way.

All wrestling rage aside, Johnson graciously thanked his fans for supporting him while he pursued a film career, telling them, "After seven long years ... finally The Rock has come back home."

The Rock? who the heck cares. and how soon we forget that Cena was the hero. I am sick of this whole mess.People wake up. these people have no clue what is going on. A real wrestling hero was Andre the Giant not a bunch of creul people bashing each other. punk is a waste of time and I am finished watching these idiots.

Wake up? Ya, let's teach everyone to sit and watch OLD wrestling videos and talk about the glory days and watch nothing new. THAT'S good for the business. Let me guess, acting and music died 20 years ago too and there is no new talent?

I believe wrestling does suck now and I miss the attitude era BUT it's called times change. New wrestlers and new times for a new youth. Whats good for us isn't good for them. If we still had wrestling where one chair shot knocked somebody out for good then it wouldn't be popular. Must adapt with time. The Rock, Austin, Hogan, and HBK are all heros of a certain time. Cena is the Hero of the younger group watching Wrestling now.

Have you figured out that around 75% of the reality shows are phoney just like wrestling? Like the show Repo. Not the one at the beach bar. The one who reposesses cars. If they repoed like they show they do, they'd all be put in a line at a cemetary. Can you picture a TV Camera stopping say a gang member from destroying the whole family. They get hurt and then the next week it's all gone. The hits are like wrestling hits. So you shouldn't be watching them unless your tired of that kind of ENTERTAINMENT!!! Where's the real blood?

The Rock should have never left the WWE, such is life, he left on good terms & Vince M. will be happy to make more money with him, just good business sense. Well, the WWE is like a nighttime soap opera. Almost always predictable. And seeing wrestlers like Randy Orton, Batista, and some others with those tattoos really degrades the sport. Tattoos are unnecessary. Before the WWE came into what it is now, pro wrestling was better. Take the 1950's, 1960's, 1970's, and the early 1980's. I would have rather watched pro wrestling then than what is shown on TV and PPV.

Yes, I am glad to see the Rock return, but I've never have seen any of his movies.

I think he should have stuck to action flicks. He had a lot of fans that will probably be glad he's back, bet they can't wait to smell what The Rock is cookin'.

I went to see a wrestling match way back in the day when I was a little kid with my grandfather, who loved it. I still remember a couple of the guys names they were Bulldog Kent and The Sheik. I think I remember it because one guy gouged the other's eye out and blood was everywhere (I thought it was real at the time).

I get tired of watching the same people wrestling each other week after week. Get some new people on the show.The wwe is getting worse evey week.

With all that static elecrticity, and the arena lights
tricaling out little by little, I thought The Undertaker
was behind that, but it was The Rock. I, personally
would love to see The Brauma Bull go one on one with
Alberto Del Rio, to see if the mexican guy can really
tame him in the ring, but The Rock wants to wrestle
John Cena. Oh, well. Maybe Alberto will be next after him.

Some of his acting has been memorable in the ring and on the big screen. He's a nice person and it's always a joy to watch him working his thing.... we wish him much luck and the fans get to watch him in action slinging his eye-candy around... Oh luckie us... NICE !

I just hope WWE keeps things PG so I can continue to watch with my young son. I loved seeing the Rock climb back in the ring, but was disappointed with how much profanity he used. WWE didn't lose any ratings or revenue when they cleaned up, and they won't increase by bringing the raunchy stuff back. The Rock is capable of speaking without cussing. Remember the Tooth Fairy? :)

I agree... what a shame to see another person who children have grown to love. And now, has to lower himself to smut to get people pumped up for RAW... Should have kept the good guy image.If this garbage keeps up,my boy's will be banned from watching.:(
