Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz had lunch together with son Bronx in Beverly Hills this week, giving some hope to shell-shocked friends that they might reconsider their divorce. Insiders tell me, however, that's not going to happen if Ashlee's dad, Joe Simpson, has his way."Just like when Jessica split from Nick, Joe is doing nothing to encourage Ashlee to give the marriage another try, if only for the sake of her son," an insider tells me. "Joe likes being the only man in his daughters' lives and is happy that Ashlee has moved back into his home [in Encino, Calif.], just like Jessica did after she announced she was leaving Nick."

Don't be so quick to put the father down. Without him, these 2 untalented ditzes would be nowhere. Kudos to him for formulating an image and licensing the name for the fashion line. It's made millions. A dummy he ain't. That "breast" remark was very calculated. Each move, step, story, photo op, etc. for that matter is very, very calculated and people eat it up and make them richer. He may be controlling, but look at the empire he created. Seriously, people, you think Jess had the brains to do all of this?

You know part of being a parent is letting go. We have our children for a short time and we give them all the tools to succeed in life and then we stand back. When you get married you forsake all others... this includes parents. Mr. Simpson has had his life, family and marriage and should allow his children the same opportunities.

Actually, I thought Ashley had more talent than Jessica. She sings a heck of alot better than Jessica and even acts better.

This is all nonsense. Ashlee (I hate that spelling) undoubtedly has been dating someone else, ala that pig Leeanne Rimes (who looks like Owen Wilson nowadays!). A few weeks ago AOL had something about who get the dog in a breakup? I found it rather a stupid question: obviously, the guy should get the dog because the wives' boyfriend already has a dog!

He must control his daughters' lives, or else he MIGHT have to actually WORK for a living!! God forbid he try to live on a preachers salary! Besides that flaw, WHAT kind of father OR preacher, makes remarks about his daughter's boobs??? That gives you an idea of how messed up he is.
